If you read the book before the movie your most likely to hate the movie. So in this case if you read it then saw it, you'll probably won't like it.
I havn't read the book, but I watch it and thought it was good. Not "nightmare before christmas--great", but not bad at all. I say it beats 'corp's bride.'
