Conventions!

So, just out of curiosity, any of you been to any conventions? whether it be comic conventions, anime conventions, star wars conventions etc. and how active were you in said convention? Whether it was cosplaying, volunteering, selling, or just looking.

Personally I've just been to the San Diego Comic-Con. Went there for the entirety of the convention two years in a row and i disliked it, mostly because of the crowds. That was back when i was 15...i think.

They kind of are xD you have to be very aggressive in order to get any of the good freebies. Picture Black Friday shopping but in the span of 2+ days. You get to see some good costumes though =D

Ah! they're completely awful, aren't they? If you're not agressive enough, they'll just drag you wherever they go. There's little room to move and you're always in contact with stranger's bodies...o_o

Ah, it was for my school Latin competition. We call it a convention, or rather, a forum.

You've got to be smart about it when you're around them, that's the gist of it!
I dislike crowds as well, for being noisy and, well, crowdy. Moreover, the potential danger they could pose makes me very cautious around them.

Either way, I would love to go to a convention myself and though there're some here in Sweden, I haven't gotten to it just yet!:T_T:

Yeah, you have to be the smart and slippery guy who can avoid tons of ppl...in other words, not me xd I trip over with my other foot and stuff like that as to get the gist of it.
Now that you mention, I remember last year some ppl died squashed by crowd when a bar got caught in fire (or something like that). The exit door was ridiculous narrow! Good thing to be weary when being close to a crowd.

Oh.. Well, when I go to the city and pass through crowds, man, you should see my ninja skills! Ain't nobody even touching me as I pass them by! You can train that!

Mhm, reason why we should all be apprehensive around crowds, but it's usually harmless.

That's exactly what it was. O__O A bunch of kids with a mutual interest in Latin, the dead language. It also gives schools a chance to compete against each other. I personally took home two trophies and a ribbon. Woo. :hooray:

It's a hell of a lot of work but it's so worth it. I rather enjoy it, at least.

They offer it at my college but idk, I really want to graduate on time and therefore straying away from my degree plans would set me back xD although i REALLY want to learn Latin, the "father" language for my language :T_T:...Then again learning ALL Romantic languages with the exception of french sounds good too Then i can attend Latin Conventions as well lol
