Shikamaru watches a strong horse and a scary looking man running towards him from some distance. As the man gets closer to him shikamaru is let in complete awe. So my teacher is a giant. I better not get him angry he mumbles to himself. And just as his sensei is standing in front of him Shikamaru in somewhat shaky voice states yes Sir I am the kid though I would actually prefer to be called young and handsome man

Extending his shadows to form spikes, Death shoots them towards his student, piercing his clothes, and grabbing him around, before lifting him up to his level. Young and handsome? Death smirks. Though his expressions wasn't be seen with his mask on, he seemed to be pretty amused with the statement.

After shikamaru finishes stating his answer he is attacked by some sharp needle like material which tears of his clothes and then lifts him up in the air. he quickly understands it is the Shadow controlling of his teacher. He is initially struck with the shear speed and strength of his teacher But he gathers his wits a little and due to his natural laziness doesn't give much attention to his teachers expressions. The Nara clan is a well known clan of KONOHAGAKURE. This clan is well known for their intelligence, ninjutsu that entails the manipulation of shadows, and tending of deer such as Rikumaru, which graze in a large area of the Nara clan forest. Shikaku Nara was the most recent head of the clan.They have kept a book with medicine preparations and effects for generations which imply they are skilled in the area of medicine. Among the medicine described in this book are the secret pills used by the Akimichi clan.

The Nara clan has a special relationship with the Akimichi and the Yamanaka clan. For several generations, members of these three families have formed "Ino–Shika–Chō" trios, named after the first part of the names of the members with the Nara members being the "Shika" in the trio. To strengthen the unity between the three clans, a member of the Sarutobi clan will give them special earrings to present to each generation head when they are promoted to chūnin after which they will swear their oaths. The earrings also symbolise that they are considered adults by their respective clans. The clan members also seem to favour wearing their hair in ponytails.

After Shikamaru hears the next question he starts thinking to himself that his teacher might be a little crazy. All that answer and he only picked up one word Shadows. As he is put down he says. So you finally become aware of my power. it's good thing that you put me down or else.......


Than he proceeds to answer the question.... A shadow is an area where light from a light source is obstructed by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it. Shadow length and thickness depends upon many factors.
1. Size of Object
2. Type of Light
3. Angle of light
4. Brightness of light

It is however to be noted that shadows in narutoverse which are controlled by Nara clan members need only one candle to be operated. Their size however still depends on the Size of object and angle of light.
Shadows are weaker to lightning and fire. As Large amount of fire can produce high intensity of light and completely dissolve Shadow. Same effect of lightning can be used as through lightning a strong flash can be produced to make shadows disappear for some moments....

For better presentation, and also to improve yourself as an RPer, you might want to separate your dialogues and actual actions with either colors or "". It is not only pleasing to the eye, but the opponents might also understand your moves better.

Death suddenly feels a bit nostalgic. This is the part where almost every time he has to explain it to his students . He repeats the same words...Fire yes. But Lightening no. Lightening techniques (except for certain techniques that explicitly say they give off a bright light) do not have enough light power to push back a Nara shadow. And fix this in your mind. When a Nara shadow jutsu is incomplete and a large source of light comes into play between the user and target, the advance of the shadow is slowed (B rank fire), halted (A rank Fire), or pushed back to user (S rank and Forbidden Fire).

Shikamaru kind of feels down that his answer was not quite upto the expectations, but with high spirits he begins to talk So that means that only those lightning jutsus that create a strong flash can slow down the shadows a bit. And a shadow moves with fast speed upto C-Rank Fire

Ok look. You colored some portions. However they are not a part of your your speech. You only need to color something that your character speaks.

Yes. Shadows are not affected by C-Rank and below fire jutsus. However, you will still need to defend against those fire techniques.
Death forms the rat handseal and extends his shadows towards the kid. Tell me, how fast do these shadows travel?

As Shishou extends his shadows towards shikamaru he immediately speaks before he is hit by the shadows to avoid making shishou angry
In broad daylight shadows can move as quickly as a Ninja can sprint.

Death suddenly changes the direction of his shadow and shoots it at a very high speed inside the forest where there is a lot of shade, only to turn it back and return it towards his student.

As the shadows are turned towards forest Shikamaru could take a breath of relief, but his happiness was short lived as the shadows of darkness were looming at his neck once again. He immediately starts to speak as a robot
Shadows move fastest (as fast as ninja can sprint) in the presence of C-Rank fire, Slowed at B-Rank fire, Halted at A-Rank fire and absorbed or pushed back to user at S-Rank fire.
To add to this shadows will be slow at time just near sunrise and sunset. And will not work night with no moon where there are no shadows. Now that's all I know

This is the base of all Nara techniques. Their signature technique! By channeling your chakra into your shadows, you can extend them . Move them forwards, turn their direction etc. You can perform various actions with it. Use this technique to merge your shadow with the shadow of my clone. My clone would be possessed in you r shadow possession technique, stopping him from moving as he stands paralyzed. Any action you do, will be imitated by my clone. Your move, Kid.

After hearing the senpai's instructions Shikamaru focuses raw chakra into his feet. Then he releases his chakra into his shadow below him, and tries to control it. He keeps a constant flow of chakra into his shadow and then makes it move towards the senpai's clone. The shadow reaches the shadow of the clone and mixes with it. This leads to clone being possessed. Now after that shikamaru wonders what to do to make the clone disperse. Suddenly a grin appears on his face and he looks towards the clone and talks,"I wonder if you can handle what I am going to do next?" He takes out his kunai from his pocket. The clone does the same, after that shikamaru makes a little cut on his palm which causes little blood to come out of it, Clone mimics him and cuts his palms as well but cannot handle the cut and disperses.
After that shikamaru turns towards senpai and asks if he did right?

3. Can be used to completely restrict the movements of opponent.

Disadvantages |
1. Only be used up to mid range. So, if opponent is out of range it doesn't have any effect on him
3. Can be broken out of easily as it is just a D-Rank jutsu.

My opinion is that it is pretty handy technique in Short range and even more handy when user is already hiding.

Since it is D-Rank opponent should easily break out of it right? But major question is that can it be used to mimic large activity like walking and jumping?

Advantage: Wrong. It requires you to maintain the rat handseal till the target is captured. Nara techniques, most of them if not all require the rat handseal. So this is what we'll do. You will mention in each post if the technique requires handseal or not.

Disadvantage: No. Even if you're possessed by a D-Rank technique, you still will have trouble getting out of it. Believe me, if you don't have the right counter for it, Nara techniques can be OP and it would be difficult to fight against them. So the opponent can enjoy as long as he isn't captured. But once he is, it would be very difficult to get out of it. Even if it is a D-Rank technique.
Can you tell me how to counter this:
1. If I extend my shadows towards you and you see it.
2. If you by some chance got captured in my shadow possession.

2. Exactly! You don't have much techniques. And hence why it is dangerous to get captured in a Nara's shadows. You need A-S rank fire techniques that do not require handseals to do the trick. Or maybe distract the user by putting him in an illusion (again, handsealless illusion)

Well, right now, acording to RP rules, yes. However, if you use D-rank shadow possession against me, a Shadow user, I can counter it with a higher ranked shadow and be on the upper side.
