Predictions for the rematch?

I predict Nate wins round 1 via Stockton Slap KO.

Hornswoggle will then continue and crumble under Aldo.

I love Conner but this fight at welterweight is just not going to work for him.

He's too small at 170 and his power just isn't there at that weight.

If it was 155, it'd be a different story but idk if he'd win still.

Regardless, He'll probably KO Aldo again in the rematch.

He never hit Nate clean... How can you say his power isn't there?

Anyway it's obvious his plan is to slim down and counter punch this fight. His coach said don't be surprised if he weighs in at 165 for the fight.

Watch that first round, Conner hit him clean several times. Also by his own admission he said that his power didn't transfer to 170.

Ummm... you know that Nate is 155 fighter? So it's not Conor is the only one that went up a weight division. He won't KO Aldo. In the first match he was emotional and jumped in, did you see how he counter punched and dominated Frankie? He will do the same to McTapper.

He did hit Nate clean... MANY times in Round 1. How do you think Nate got a cut? Cuts don't occur through simple taps. Also that idea of counter punching is terrible, it won't work. Counter punching works more if you're the taller fighter because you can sit back and snipe. Conor isn't the taller fighter. Also counter punching generally doesn't lead to KOs, it's more of a points method like Floyd's style.

Nate also has one of the best chins in the whole of the UFC so put 2 an 2 together. Counter punching opponent+Iron chin= 5 rounds, Conor can't go the distance like Nate can so it will end in a simple manner.

Just to conclude: I don't understand how people are missing the fact on how much a training camp matters. Just imagine yourselves with a 7 week training camp fighting the current version of you. The improvements are drastic, If Nate beat his ass with 11 days notice, he will surely do it with a 7 week training camp.

I'm well aware that Nate mainly fights at 155, however I'm merely suggesting that if the first fight was at 155 then maybe Conner would've done better.

If the first fight was somehow at 155. Nate would die just walking up to the scales. He walks around at 175-180 so he would have had to drop 25 pounds in 11 days. If you're saying 155 fight ready Nate then he would dominate Conor even more then he already did. He just beats Conor in all aspects but kicks.

Watch the first round? I've watched that fight close to 30 times. I actually just watched it this morning. All Conor's shots in the first round weren't clean but looked good

this shot early in the first looks good, but nate is leaning away and anticipating it so it doesn't get delivered at the right point to properly deliver power

This is a good shot, but it wasn't thrown the right way as far as power generation goes. That and Nate rolls with it again.

These shots look good but are barely landing

The only times Conor really landed clean in the fight were both in the second round. The first was a weak right hand lead uppercut that caught Diaz by surprise. The second was a perfectly placed left counter at the 1:20 mark of the second round, but at that point he was gassing and there was no power behind it.

Look at this weak right hand swat actually stun Diaz because it was thrown in the middle of his own shot

Counter shots are great for knockouts, because the single biggest component in a knockout is surprise.

That said grazing shots actually cut worse than flush shots do.

As for the Diaz had no camp excuse... He's still a professional fighter. Those skills don't just go away. It's not like he doesn't have mad stamina anyway. He's literally gonna be the same fighter he was because he and his brother are pretty much the only ones who do triathlons in their free time and stay in shape.

Nate's not gonna be any better than he was. Conor on the other hand is trying an entirely different approach.

You also have to understand, he ate up to 170 because he was already deep in a camp for 155. This fight he's gonna be shredded at 165 instead of bloated up to 168.

Do you know how much sparring helps you? When you spar for 7 weeks you're reflexes sharpen up a lot. Also the punches are smoother and more snappy after hitting the bag and shadow boxing in general. You are more mentally prepared and polished.

If you think Nate is going to be same you know nothing about fighting. I box and know many fighters and we have a saying "I'v not even had a camp but I'll whoop him". Everyone knows how much a camp helps you.

Dude you act like he was never in the gym from his fight in december to his fight in march.

You think he just took all that time and abandoned his craft for that long a time?

The only thing a camp will help him with is training for a specific opponent.

Diaz's boxing has a limit, it's not as good as Conor's. Camp or no camp, until Conor runs out of gas, Diaz is getting lit up.

The Diaz brothers are easily one of the best boxers in the whole of UFC? This isn't an insult but do you not watch a lot of behind the scene interviews with the fighters? The Diaz brothers have been boxing since they were 16, now I'll give you the fact that so has Conor as he was in the boxing amateurs but the Diaz brothers could both transfer to boxing today and quite quickly be in the top 10 in their division. No way can Conor Mcgregor be in top 10 at 145. Nate sparred with Andre Ward who is considered number top 5 P4P boxers. Trust me Andre Ward isn't going to spar you if he's not going to get a benefit from it and Nate wasn't paying him so he definitely thought Nate was good enough to practice and improve from.

I will leave you with this 3 minute video, watch it and you will understand what I am talking about.

The only reason they spar with andre ward is they just happen to go to the same gym.

You want to talk about how good their boxing is? Lets talk about their down right terrible footwork.
