Connection between Uzumaki and So6p

It was stated by Madara that you need bought Senju and Uchiha DNA.

So from that we can see that Uzumakis have bought Senju and Uchiha DNA.

Uzumaki's body/DNA is probably a good enough substitute for Senju DNA. Plus he has the eyes of the Uchiha (Rinnegan), which is what is required to control the statue I believe.

The Rinnegan per se is sufficient to control the Demonic Statue, the second option is to have both Senju+Uchiha DNA without the Rinnegan to control the Demonic Statue. So Nagato, having the Rinnegan per se was able to control it, while having Senju+Uchiha DNA in one body (even without the Rinnegan) is also sufficient in controlling it.

What Madara said to Obito was "Even if you don't awaken the Rinnegan you can still control the Mazou" which implies that the Rinnegan in itself is sufficient to control it, but the substitute for it would be to have Senju+Uchiha DNA in one body which Obito has even if he didn't possess the Rinnegan at that time.

Rinnegan (in itself) = control of Gedo Mazo

Uchiha+Senju DNA (without Rinnegan) = control of Gedo Mazo

Nagato let the Mazo feed off of his chakra, that's why he got stabbed with black rods. Obito used the chakra of the bijuu to give power to the Mazo, that's why he wasn't stabbed like Nagato.
