This. He's a gay guy, not a female, he still falls in the king category. I like that they're tolerant and accepting enough to allow a gay person in this position without complications and shit, but it shouldn't be a guy.
Accepting is the key word here. They pretty much are endorsing him and his sexuality.
I do not accept his sexuality as normal. But I tolerate it.
Would I treat him any differently than one who accepts his sexuality. Absolutely not. I would be polite and kind to him, but I would not do anything to endorse his sexuality. So if he had a gay wedding, I would not attend. But if he just had a barbeque, then I would accept or decline just like I would with anyone else.
I just get tired of this double standard that I must accept his lifestyle and viewpoints(and those who agree with him), but if I mention something that goes against those viewpoints, then my own viewpoints are not tolerated.
@Ritsu "The prom king at my school was a girl.
Kudos to this school for being open-minded."
Interesting that you experianced the reverse of this story.
Being open minded has absolutely nothing to do with this story. Being Openminded just means that you are always asking questions about various things. That you consider many things, and opposeing arguements. It does not mean that you cannot settle on a opinion viewpoint etc. Just that you question all the different things.
I say this, because it could be possible that this school was actually closeminded about this.
Anyways sorry for getting off topic. If you have a issue with my above comment please address it with me via pm. DO NOT address it in this thread(as the thread would get off topic).
To the topic of the thread. I could care less about if this guy is prom king queen or whatever else. Its their lives and their choices and I respect that. I personally think that only males should be given king, and females queen. Regardless of their sexuality. If the schools want to make a gay guy king then they can go for it. Especially in this case where the man was gay, not transexual.
Do not let my comment make those of you who are happy about this feel bad. I'm Neutral on this. If you are happy for him then good for you. Im glad that by reading about him brought some happiness to you.
Anyways. Have a wonderful night everyone!
