Confused about Tobi.

I was rereading the manga chapters and found something confusing. When sasuke killed itachi and met with tobi, tobi told him he was not the one who intruded the leaf village 16 years ago with the nine tails. Now when Naruto meets with his parents we find out it was tobi. So was tobi lying to sasuke all this time? OR am i missing something?

tobi is lying!!! i think obi must be obito!!! because when he intruded konoha, he know almost everything about konoha and also have intel about fourth hokage!!!and at the last chapter, when he said he get eyes from the kannabi bridge, he also tell that he is not like kakashi who was sad before a grave. i think he must be obito because he use only one eye before he fought with konnan....

Remember though people, Tobi lies for a reason.

I see people (especially in Tobi identity threads) trying to disprove something by just saying "yeah, but we know Tobi is a liar". (Edit: case in point, look at the post above mine).

Of the 2 lies that Tobi has commited, both of them have come with a reason. The first, where he lied about being Madara, he did so because there's power in a name. The name Madara would carry the most fear of any other, so he used it.

The second lie was about the Kyuubi's attack being a fluke. He said this to Sasuke. The reason being of course to make sure Sasuke would be on his side and hate the Leaf even more, because if he had said that he was the one who attacked the Leaf, it would undermine his whole argument.

So he only lies for a reason. Just sayin'

Thank you, you use logic that's generally kinda missing a bit on these forums and I agree with you here (Even if I've disagreed with you in the past ^^)

People twist Tobi's ability to lie just to verify their poor theories. I've seen this happening several times ._. Sometimes Tobi has said things clearly hinting something, clearly not lying, but yet people go on "Lol you can't trust anything Tobi says".
