Confused about Mei Lava release

For the Fifth Mizukage it's possible to use the Lava Release Kekkai Genkai. Inside her body, Chakra is changed into strong acidic fluid, everything is melted by the dangerous technique. Out of the mouth gushes (blasts) out a quantity of viscous fluid, the shape and amount is at the liberty of the technique's users. When spit forth at short range it's speed drastically increases (I'm pretty sure?), a wall that obstructs ones path, to use in more than one direction is feasible.

↑ Distributes viscous liquid across a vast range/scope, creating an acid wall. Anything that touches it will crumble and loose it's shape.

So is her jutsu melting because of extremely hot temperature or because of strong acid ???

Ah my mistake it’s all the same except for the acid mist. The anime just fked it up iirc.

It's a bit of both but mainly the acidic content lava on it's own isn't enough to do anything significant.

Mei used Lava here and Sasuke was covered in it and pracrically blasted with it yet it did nothing. Even when he passed through it after Chojuro hit him he was still okay. Mei was keeping the PH(acidity) of it low so she doesn't hurt her comrades in the room so Susanoo was ok. That's why it's clumpy and red instead there's a difference between this version and the one she used against Madara.

Here Mei uses the corrosive mist and Susano'o starts to melt, Sasuke confirms it's the acidic content that's causing the melting.

Here Mei shows more concern of the corrosive qualities of the mist because of its acidity and not the lava she used. She wants to change the PH of it before it leaks through and kills or hurts the others.

Mei uses the same Lava monster jutsu as she did against Sasuke yet here it's more runny and corrosive. She likely increased it's acidity by adding the boil release to it somehow. That's why this version is shown to be green and runny like the mist instead of red lumpy like the one from the Kage summit.
