Confused about amaterasu

This isn't a Minato vs Itachi thread. Please don't discuss it here.

My question is when Sasuke was running from Itachi's Amaterasu, was Itachi purposely making it slow enough to give Sasuke a chance, or was it just because his eyes were having problems focusing because they were losing their light? Or both? If yes to either, would Itachi with his MS at full light be able to use Amaterasu as well as Sasuke when he fought Raikage, or is that just because Sasuke has EMS and/or blaze release?

My other question came from a thread asking if the Amaterasu could go through a mirror. I originally thought it couldn't but people are saying no point A to B, it spawns on what the focus is on. According to that would it be possible for an Susano user to be hit with Amaterasu inside of it, since it's transparent? Basically, the same question as the mirror since if it spawns on the target that they can actually see, there should be no difference with it going beyond glass, or Yata Mirror. But that seems nuts. Just wondering.

2.No itachi wouldnt be able to use it as well as sasuke as stated by danzo sasuke has better control.

itachi definitely didnt want to kill sasuke and hence sasuke escaped

i dont see any difference would have been made if itachi were to use amaterasu on raikage

amaterasu appears on whatever the eye focuses and susanoo is not transparent..

the incomplete form of susanoo has space between ribs that can be used to aim at the user inside

Amaterasu works via the persons eyes...You have to focus on someone or something and amaterasu will shoot at them with insane speeds..

Not only was Itachi almost blind, but because sasuke was running, he had trouble keeping up and focusing on sasuke, thus cause amaterasu to linger and follow sasuke..
When Itachi finally got his eyes on sasuke it connected...

An argument can be made however that Itachi purposefully did this to give Sasuke a chance to escape...Tobi did say afterall he planned out the entire fight...He also never intended to kill Sasuke..


I highly doubt amaterasu can go through a mirror, as I personally don't believe it spanws , It just moves so fast it's almost instant, So to me no amaterasu cannot go through a sussano, neither can Kamui IMO

Itachi never wanted to do major damage to Sasuke, he only wanted to set alight Sasuke's CM wings which is why he put the flames out straight after they hit. Not only this, but Itachi was barely able to see whilst trying to be careful hitting him. That isn't an easy thing to do.
Itachi does have Blaze Release, but he isn't as good with it as Sasuke is. It seems he has more of an affinity towards Yin Release, being able to manipulate time in Tsukuyomi.
Amaterasu does travel.. so it would hit the mirror.

i think ...itachi was using amaterasu at full power ...he justwanted to make sasuke tired ....if he had full light and intent to kill , i wonder if sasuke cud dodge it ....and blaze release helps to control the black flames and i think sasuke's skill in amaterasu > thn itachi's

and i think u r talking about lenses and not mirror cuz we can see throught mirrors , mirrors reflect the light ......
but i think susanoo wud b able to stop amaterasu .... the black flames wud start burning on the spot , that is where they hit susanoo at first ....and no it wont b able to pass thru lenses , nor it wud reflect ...it will start burning where it wud hit

Itachi was purposely making his Amaterasu slow enough to give Sasuke a chance,He didnt wanted to kill him..he wanted to burn his wings...the moment Sasukes wing got caught in Amaterasu he stopped it purposely as he didnt intend to kill him....If he wanted to kill him Totsuka sword was enough for Sasuke

2.Amaterasu travels with high speed so it will hit the mirror it can not go beyond it..and Susano should be able to stop Amaterasu...Once Sasuke also said that His defence (Susano) is even greater than Gaara'a Defence...
