Basically, Orochimaru could have just took out whomever he wanted to, knowing vast amount of secrets, knowing sage mode yet not using it against the third hokage, agaisnt itachi; yes, truly he's cocky, but don't you feel that he could have just thrash everybody from the very beginning!? the sharingan, possibly he had found a weakness to it, maybe the encounters with sasuke and itachi will enable him to formulate a counter later on..

also, still bothered by, how in the world can the third hokage beat the first hokage?? i mean, He's the only one who's capable of going toe to toe with madara, who is a monstrous character. Conflicting, does it not compute? Or just let it be, yet still leaves a scar of questionings. *yes

Oro has never shown sage made. He was just able to implant nature chakra into the CS because the CS is derived from Juugo's clan. They unconsciously draw in nature chakra.
