Katon is 1 of the 5 basic elements, it is performed by molding heated chakra inside the stomach before releasing it through our mouths by breathing it out from our lungs. Also, fire isn't always released from the mouth. Some are manipulated to travel through the ground or released in the form of a flammable ash, some are shot as projectiles from the user's hands! There are also different ways to use it, you could use mediums such as gun powder, explosive tags and even through chakra flow into a weapon. Katon is also commonly affiliated with the Tiger hand seal and consists of mid-long range attacks that cause combustive and explosive damage.
-Strengths - Katon is strong against Fuuton because the air feeds the flames which makes the flames bigger and more powerful
-Weaknesses - Katon is weak against Suiton because it puts out the fire
-Combination - Katon can also be used in conjunction with Raiton, Katon techniques can be used to alter weather conditions which in turn allows you to use more powerful Raiton techniques. Katon can also be used with Fuuton to overcome even Suiton techniques

I close my eyes, stay still a bit and wait till my muscles are relaxed.
I begin by gathering a small amount of chakra in my lungs. After gathering the right amount of chakra, I start manipulating it, transforming it to katon chakra. I start imagining all the fire characteristics, when it occurs,types of fires: strong fires and weak fires. This helps me create the image of fire in my mind, and making it easier to somehow perform the jutsu. Not bad. For the next jutsu exhale several small fireballs at your target in one breath. Nothing to it. Burn a few dummies nearby.

I start gathering my chakra in my stmoach. I continue adding chakra as I start to nature manipulate my chakra turning it into Katon chakra. I then take a deep breath and continue moulding my chakra so it is ready for the jutsu. I continue turning my chakra into Katon chakra and then I exhale, releasing my Katon chakra through my mouth, releasing small flaming balls towards the training dummies.
I turn my head to the left and see some more training dummies. As I notice them, I take out a few shuriken from my ninja pouch and hold them in my hand. I then throw them at the training dummies and start moulding my chakra in my stomach. I continue adding chakra while I start to nature manipulate my chakra, turning my raw chakra into Katon chakra. I continue moulding my Katon chakra and I then spew it out onto the shuriken, setting the shurikens on fire as the shurikens hits the training dummies.

Good enough. Here's something a bit different. Perform the Snake, Ram, Monkey, and Tiger handseals before exhaling flammable gas at your target instead of fire. Ignite the gas with a fire jutsu to create a large fireball and set him ablaze. Find a dummy nearby.

I 1st perform the Snake->Ram->Monkey->Tiger handseals, then start gathering chakra in my stomach. I then use nature manipulation to turn my chakra into Katon chakra. I continue moulding my chakra and then suddenly release my it from my mouth directly towards the direction of a dummy nearby, but in a form of gas that is highly flammable. Then I use the "Fire Release: Small Fire" technique to set the gas on fire and burn the dummy.
I start by quickly gathering chakra in my stomach. I continue gathering my chakra as I start to use nature manipution to turn my chakra into Katon chakra. I continue moulding my chakra as I take a deep breath, I then release my Katon chakra from my mouth by breathing it out in the form of a stream, aiming it to senpais-dummy. The I inhale again and this turn I channel them through my limbs, shooting small fireball to the other dummy, which resembled senpai more than the first. Then I do the same process all over again, but this time I cover my punches and feet with fire, while I go near the dummy, which I hit and set it in fire at the same time, till it completely burns.

Nicely done. About time we started doing sets of 3 jutsu. I'll also introduce new targets, the Six Paths of Pein. Now simply exhale a small, quick stream of flame at your target. It should be enough to stop this guy in his tracks.

For this jutsu, simply throw a lighter with a open flame and focus katon chakra on it, making the flame expand into a defensive wall of flame. Take this and block my attack.

I start gathering my chakra in my stomach. Then I continue adding chakra as I start to use nature manipulation to turn my chakra into Katon chakra. I continue mixing and molding my chakra since this technique requires a continuous chakra stream to be useful. I inhale and then release my chakra through my mouth but I continue to focus on exhaling my chakra since this technique requires me to focus or it will disperse. I then release my Katon chakra aiming towards the Pein that was heading towards me wielding a sword, which get hits by the fire.
I start by performing the hand seals Snake->Ram->Monkey->Boar->Horse->Tiger. I then take in a deep breath as I start to gather a large amount of my chakra. I begin to change my raw chakra into super heated Katon chakra by using nature manipulation. I then make the tips of my index finger and thumb touch to form a circle. After that I put it on my lips as I start to exhale my Katon chakra from my mouth in the form of a stream of fire. As I release my Katon chakra, I continue moulding Katon chakra in my stomach so I can continue exhaling a stream of fire. I aim the fire towards the 3 Peins nearby, and after they are roasted, I continue keeping the fire stream active till it roasts the other Peins which were lounging a few meters away.

I throw it in front of me and as it is in the air, I imagine a wall to protect me but not just any wall, a wall made of fire. I continue imagining the wall of flames so I have an idea of how the wall should be made, I create the wall of flames by mixing my chakra with the flame from the lighter, thus protecting myself from the shurikens that Sensei threw at me.

Good, good. Here's a jutsu that comes in two forms, a burning trap and a projectile. After performing the Tiger handseal produce and manipulate fire streams running across the ground. They should surround the target in the form of a circle preventing escape. Alternately, with the same Tiger handeal, a fire stream can be exhaled and manipulated to form a ring-shaped fireball. Use both forms on this guy. Can't have my dinner getting away.

( Katon: Hibashiri ) - Fire Release: Running Fire

It can also be used in combination with Wind Release: Divine Wind to create a tornado of flames, or with Wind Release: Godly Wind from the Mountains to release a massive inferno. The stream of fire can be created by stomping the ground (running across the ground in this case) or by spewing the flames (which will form an airborne ring of flames that will travel towards the enemy).
Next, attach a long cord-like object to your target and perform the Snake, Dragon, Rabbit, and Tiger handseals. Then breathe fire along the cord causing the flames to rush toward and incinerate the target at the other end. The best method is to trap your target with ninja wire so it can't possibly miss its mark. Find a Pein around here.
( Katon: Ryūka no Jutsu ) - Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique

For this jutsu simply perform the Tiger handseal and exhale a fire stream. Nothing new. That guy looks cold.

I raise my hand to my chest and perform the Tiger hand seal. After performing the hand seal, I start to gather chakra in my stomach. As I gather my chakra I start to turn my raw chakra into heated Katon chakra by nature manipulating my chakra. As I breath in, I continue molding my chakra until it is hot enough. I imagine a circle as I begin to release my Katon chakra from my mouth. I use shape manipulation to mold my Katon chakra into a circlerunning across the ground and then I release my Katon chakra blocking the crabs way. I release my Katon chakra which was heading towards the Pein's who were building wooden statues of themselves, in the form of several small fireballs.

I then begin to release my Katon chakra through my mouth by using shape manipulation. After that, I release my Katon chakra in the form of a flame, which I aim to the nearest training dummy, converging it into flames. The dummy is burned soon after the technique was performed.

While in mid air, I quickly start gathering chakra in my stomach, then rapidly gathering more chakra and start to turn my raw chakra into Katon chakra. Hello Exon, I shall be taking over your training from Ushiro-Sensei as of now.
So every teacher has a teaching method they prefer. Below is the method which I prefer, with the criteria you should complete for every technique..
1. Explain yourself performing the technique in a well detailed description. Necessary hand seals, nature and shape manipulation should be included as well.
2. List advantages and disadvantages of the technique.
3. I will post a counter to each technique you learn. Depending on what I post, tell me if it is a good or bad counter, and the reasons why. Don't focus on ranking as much for this, just focus on the properties and characteristics of each technique.
4. If any question pops up in your mind, no matter how stupid or smart. Please..feel free to ask. However, this part is not compulsory only ask questions when you seek clarification or do not understand something.
If you have any questions regarding my training method, feel free to ask. If not, I shall proceed from where Ushiro-Sensei left off.
