Sure the heat from the flame helped too but still Sasuke manipulated the shape of the flame in the form of blades to cut through the ice.

Looking at the surrounding, too much large ices, the temperature must be extremely freaking low that the ice cube was too hard.

Look Enton burns anything it touches (and doesn't spread) so basicly by shaping it into a swords it burns everything it touches as precised as a sword, but it isn't cutting (as fire is not solid) it is just burning precisely

The "kagutsuchi" or manipulation of the amaterasu is clearly cutting the ice. But yea it definitely cuts, that's pretty cool.

OT: Ama isn't cutting, it burns/melts. Whatever the name for the shape manipulation jutsu makes ama cut by turning it into a sword.
