Me too, this quite took my by surprise. But the Movie Concept for Sasuke clearly shows a Rinnegan in his Left Eye, meaning that he actually can deactivate it.

Also, Sasuke not having the rinnegan in his left eye could mean a number of things... Until we have irrefutable proof of Sasuke activating and deactivating his rinnegan, everything is still speculation.

The naruto and hinata relationship SEEMS to be heading that way yes.

No it's not the only plausible possibility, throughout the series, characters have been plopping eyes out and plopping eyes in left and right, Naruto even created an eye out of nowhere for christ sake (kakashi's). I mean they both lost arms, and now he miraculously has a fresh one, anything could happen.

We don't know what happens yet because we haven't seen the movie, all we know is, Sasuke has his rinnegan in one picture and in the trailer he doesn't, anything could have happened in between... That's ALL we know.

Nobody has been able to deactivate the Rinnegan before (or has ever, even if they could, which has never been confirmed), what makes Sasuke the exception??

Being Sasuke is enough.

The sharingan tomoes are there and we know that this is not a normal looking rinnegan. This is enough for me to consider that he can disable it.
