EMS Madara used to fight Hashirama for a long time. So there's no doubt he awakened PS early. Plus he was skilled.

nah i disagree.

Manga IS >>> anime in terms of knowledge and accuracy however there are some things that kishi neglects to do, hence the reason that sometimes he delivers chapters with only 13-14 or so pages in them when he could have included these things (such as the battle we saw in todays episode) into the manga.

I am GLAD they included it and i think it added more bulk to their backstory.

The Uchiha Clan Massacre arc was not included in the manga, however it has been accepted as canon. same with this fight.
