Kaguya was evil, she stole the fruit from the Shinju (the creator of the Elemental Nations). Afterwards she enslaved and abused people with her even greater powers of the new-found Sharingan.
And if those suspicions are right she is now the Shinigami, likely as penance for all her wrongdoings, so I don't support those theories that Hinata is Kaguya's reincarnation she is to pure to be such a bad persons host.
