So I was watching the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime and near the end of the first season this guy gets summoned

But seriously guys. I'm drawing a blank to what type of bird this is. Is it a Falcon or valcher? Maybe a phoenix? If somebody can confirm what type of bird this monster is based on I'll be grateful. It's been bugging me since it was summoned.

See that was one of my main guesses. But the problem I have with that is it isn't scrawny enough to be a vulture. It looks kind of like a cross between a falcon and a vulture.

The firey tail suggests a phoenix. the head is similar to a vulture......


....Who says it is just one bird? It could be a combination of birds. Though the marking and as a whole look like the Summon Quetzalcoatl from FFVIII.

Looks similar to Blue-Eyes Shinning Dragon.

The E.I.s are based off the Nazca Lines in Peru. The one that monster's based off is supposed to be a condor which, yes, is essentially a vulture.
