Actually - the whole concept of the Uzumaki being the clan of the 6 paths is based on them Being dressed as Monks

The Term ninja occurred only after the sage of 6 paths


Thus there still were clans - and due to the Changes in the world and the fact that the eddy village had to protect themselves -

They started learning Ninjutsu - and that occurred waay past the sage's time


So it is a theory - but it is not as Far fetched as you say

I disagree that the Sage was not an Uzumaki, that has yet to be proven. I believe he was. If jutsu didn't exist, then how did he seal the Juubi in himself?
