As far as threads go, the title had to interest you a LITTLE if you clicked it.

You don't have to click it though, I can remember a few people on my ignore list and it annoys me seeing their threads, especially when majority of the time it's the same crap. But, I suppose there are exceptions to this and it's probably more often then not, in which a person on someone's ignore list will have great threads.

Agreed on bottom on the scenario that it's a good thread.

Would you be more inclined to contemplate the idea if there was an option to make them "invisible" and you could make them like it is currently if you so desired? Although that would require further work and make it more likely to fall under the "too much work" category.

Well, just so you know, i dont have anybody in my Ignore list for the time being.

Its not like the person is always making posts or threads that annoy you, sometimes their posts might be relevant and you might wannna discuss a few points with them. Plus, its not like their posts are on a open display to you, just 'ignore' them.
Making them go completely invisible to you might restrict some of your options

There is a reason its called Ignore list. You can ignore one's existence, that doesnt mean they're actually not there. Street dogs bark at you, and you ignore them but you can still hear them bark

One question though; what if it were an option? So you could keep it like it is now or like my OP? But, if you are fine with it now, it would be pointless. However, I think it would be an acceptable option to cater for both lots of people. Ones who are happy with how it is, and ones whom would rather it gone. Only thing is on how much time and effort would go into such a thing, it might make it a no-go.

All that depends on how admins see it as they are the one whoz gonna do all the updates. What you suggest sounds like a lot of work and the most probable answer you're going to get from an admin is a NO.

If there was a way to completely "erase the presence" of members don't you think the Mods would have found it out first? I agree that I wish there was something more effective but the remedy will always be to "ignore and move on".

Honestly, I think it's fine the way it is.

What happens if someone on your ignore list quotes you or posts something in one of the threads you make? You'd never know while everyone else would. They'd take it as you not having anything to say to them. For that reason, the option to view their post is a good thing.

If they don't quote you or post in your thread, but you happen to see the "view post" option just randomly for one of their posts... just don't click on it. They still exist whether you see it or not, you cannot change that. And it may be annoying that there are users like that on this site, but that's just life. You cannot ignore every annoyance in real life, nor can you do it on NB.

Plus, this seems like the staff would have to put alot of effort into this. I don't think it's worth it.

This would be good. Sometimes the thread titles of the 2 members on my ignore list make my guts clench. Having the option to completely ignore someone might cut down on character bash wars.
