[Comparison] Six Paths of Pain VS. Tobi

This thread is a minor tweak to the usual versus threads. Instead of comparing strengths and pitting two characters against one another, I simply would like to hear a comparison of character.

Question for this thread: Who portrays a better villain/antagonist? Six Paths of Pain or Tobi?

These two antagonists accomplished many devastating feats during their lifetime. But character-wise, which one seemed more menacing to the audience and readers? Also, i would like to mention that I am referring to Tobi as he was before his identity was revealed. The hidden identity that he had played a big part to the type of evil he was supposed to embody.


My personal opinion: I always loved the character design of Pain. When he was first introduced, they were a badass group of ninja who eventually became my favorite villain in the series.

Sage of 6 paths no doubt he hass both pure spiritual. And physical energy and body obito. Doesn't has nither so sage wins nomatter what

pain. he killed so many good guys and actually made naruto shut up with his bullshit. he didnt say anything. obito never did and only made naruto hesitate for a second. excluding both villain's inevitable TNJ pain is the best villain till obito starts tearing shit up

OT: Obito is the better villian. He's been the main antagonist of the series, he's been shown to manipulate anybody to get what he wants. He manipulated nagato into becomming evil so technically you can say that obito is indirectly responsible for pein's actions. Obito also took control of Kirigakure and orchestrated the uchiha clan massacre. He founded akatsuki and at the age of 14 nearly crushed Konoha (he would've succeeded if minato wasnt present)

madara encouraged yahiko to form akatsuki and pain was the figurehead leader who went out and got all those criminals. besides kisame and itachi

He manipulated nagato into becomming evil

itachi manipulated sauske into being evil but itachis an atrocious character. also nagato being evil was his own choice. hence the sadistic smirk as he massacred the anbu and hanzos men

Atatsuki wouldnt be around if it wasnt for obito, they would just be a rogue group of shinobi, not a criminal organization, that was obito's doing (and obito recruited nagato, so that means that obito is the figurehead who hides in the shadows)

Itachi turning sasuke evil wasnt his intention...It was a mistake and wouldnt have happened if obito didnt tell sasuke the truth, therefore putting sasuke's turn towards evil obito's responsibility too

Nagato was turning evil from killing the ANBU because he was being posessed by the gedo statue. This is the same thing that happened to obito when he slaughtered those Kiri ANBU too..Oh and while im on that point, obito's flashback has the image that holds the title of "bloodiest manga page in naruto"
