Hello everybody. I'm back with another theory and this time, will be talking about a character we know little to nothing about, Kong.

Who just so happens to be a mythical zoan.
Mythical Zoan- Mugi Mugi no mi: Model Sun Wukong aka "Monkey King"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sun Wukong Story(important info only for those who can't check the link) For the full story :

-has insane strength. Can lift of 17,55olbs with ease
-wields a staff that can adjust its reach and weighs 17,550 lbs
-incredible speed
-Golden eyes that can see through evil but is weak to smoke
-Has 72 transformations(animals and objects) but his tail doesn't change
-can produce clones of himself with his fur
-a very skilled fighter
-can command wind and freeze humans

Wukong was born a stone monkey from a magic egg. When he moved his eyes, golden light shot towards the Pole Star Palace; but now that he is eating and drinking, the golden light is gradually dying.” In his benevolence and mercy the Jade Emperor said, “Creatures down below are born of the essence of heaven and earth: there is nothing remarkable about him.” On his mountain the monkey was able to run and jump just when he came out, feed from plants and trees, drink from brooks and springs, pick mountain flowers and look for fruit. He made friends with the wolves, went around with the tigers and leopards, was on good terms with the deer, and had the other monkeys and apes for relations.

At the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, Sun Wukong established himself as one of the most powerful and influential demons in the world. In search of a weapon worthy of himself, Sun Wukong traveled into the oceans, where he acquired the Golden-banded staff Ruyi Jingu Bang, which could change its size, multiply itself, and fight according to the whim of its master. It was originally used by Dà-Yǔ to measure ocean depth and later became the "Pillar that pacifies the oceans", a treasure of Ao Guang, the "dragon-king of the Eastern Seas". It weighed 13,500 jin (8.1 tons). Upon Sun Wukong's approach, the pillar started to glow, signifying that it had found its true master. Its versatility meant that Sun Wukong could wield it as a staff and keep it inside his ear as a sewing needle. This drove fear into the magical beings of the sea and threw the sea itself into confusion, since nothing but the pillar could control the ebb and flow of the ocean's tides. In addition to taking the magical staff, Wukong also defeated the dragons of the four seas in battle and forced them to give him a golden chain mail shirt (鎖子黃金甲), a phoenix-feather cap, and cloud-walking boots).

Hoping that a promotion and a rank amongst the gods would make him more manageable, the Jade Emperor invited Sun Wukong to Heaven, where the monkey believed he would receive an honorable place as one of the gods. Instead, he was made the Protector of the Horses to watch over the stables, which was the lowest job in heaven. When he discovered this, Sun Wukong rebelled and proclaimed himself the "Great Sage, Equal of Heaven". He then got revenge by setting the Cloud Horses free. The Heavens' initial attempt at subduing the Monkey King was unsuccessful, and they were forced to recognize his title; however, they tried again to put him off as the guardian of Heavenly Garden.

After several failed attempts at execution, Sun Wukong was locked into Lao Tzu's eight-way trigram Crucible to be distilled into an elixir, (so that Lao Tzu could regain his "pills of longevity"), by the most sacred and the most severe samadhi fires. After 49 days, however, when the cauldron was opened, Sun Wukong jumped out, stronger than ever before. He now had the ability to recognize evil in any form through his jīnjīng-huǒyǎn (金睛火眼) (lit. "golden-gaze fiery-eyes "), an eye condition that also gave him a weakness to smoke, and proceeded to destroy Heaven's remaining forces.

With all of their options exhausted, the Jade Emperor and the authorities of Heaven appealed to the Buddha, who arrived from his temple in the West. The Buddha made a bet with Sun Wukong that Sun Wukong could not escape from Buddha's palm. Sun Wukong, knowing that he could cover 108,000 li in one leap, smugly agreed. He took a great leap and then flew to the end of the world in seconds. Nothing was visible except for five pillars, and Wukong surmised that he had reached the ends of Heaven. To prove his trail, he marked the pillars with a phrase declaring himself "the great sage equal to heaven" (and in other versions, urinated on the pillar he signed on). Afterward, he leaped back and landed in the Buddha's palm. There, he was surprised to find that the five "pillars" he had found were in fact the five fingers of the Buddha's hand. When Wukong tried to escape, the Buddha turned his hand into a mountain. Before Wukong could shrug it off, the Buddha sealed him there using a paper talisman on which was written the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum in gold letters, wherein Sun Wukong remained imprisoned for five centuries.

Now, you all are probably thinking that this sound more like this guy:

You are correct. Well, atleast for personality. I believe that Sun Wukong's personality was given to Garp(and Luffy). If you read the info on Sun Wukong above, you'll know that Wukong was viewed as a dog by the gods.

Guess what? Garp wears a dog mask and has a dog ship:

Like Wukong, Garp also possesses insane physical strength and lived in the mountains. Like Wukong, Garp is a troublemaker.

And remember Wukong's encounter with Buddha? "The Buddha made a bet with Sun Wukong that Sun Wukong could not escape from Buddha's palm. There, he was surprised to find that the five "pillars" he had found were in fact the five fingers of the Buddha's hand. When Wukong tried to escape, the Buddha turned his hand into a mountain. Before Wukong could shrug it off, the Buddha sealed him."

This reminds me of Sengoku and Garp. I believe Sengoku's relationship with Garp was influenced by this.

Not only is Sengoku's epithet "Buddha", he is literally a Buddha. Sengoku constantly tries to keep Garp in the palm of his hand so that the crazy bastard won't cause so much trouble.

Something is wrong though. Buddhas are known for their wisdom and Sengoku is simply cunning. In Buddhism, the only way to be wise is to be void of all emotion. Sengoku is definitely emotional:

Not to mention that Sengoku gets worried a lot.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now then. Garp has the personality of Sun Wukong but doesn't have any of his abilities(minus brute strength). Sengoku has Buddha's abilities but not his personality. Kong has what Sengoku and Garp does not.

Kong is actually a word in Buddhism. Its means emptiness,,voidness, openness, spaciousness hollowness and vacuity. It is a Buddhist concept that also means "not self." "This world is empty of self or anything pertaining to self." Its a concept that leads to the perfection of wisdom.

Kong has only been shown once. How can you tell his personality?
Those simple 2 pages of Kong was all that was needed to figure out his personality.

Here you can se Sengoku and Garp resigning because "their eras" are over and theres no need to keep old timers running the marines. Kong himself is apart of the same era as Sengoku and Garp, but he has no intention of resigning. Sengoku and Garp's reasons for leaving are irrevelant and is simply the actions of emotion. Able to be void of such emotion, Kong forced the unruly "Sun Wukong" into staying a marine and convinced the "unenlightened Buddha" to train younger marines(with Garp)(think about it. Do you think Sengoku would've let Garp resign? I say yes). Kong saw the bigger picture that Garp and Sengoku leaving would cause a media uproar and they are needed to train marines. Also, notice how calm and serious Kong was in his talk with Sengoku.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notice that Kong resides in Marijoies which is basically "heaven" inhabited by "gods." Kong was permitted to stay when he was promoted to Commander-in-Chief by the Gorosei. Sounds just like Wukong being promoted to a god by the gods and was permitted to stay in heaven.

Remember how the gods in Wukong's story gave him the lowest position in heaven as the protector of the Horses to watch over the stables? Its similar to Kong's position. In Marijoies, the only positions are Gorosei, Tenryubitto, CPO and Commander-in-Chief. Commander-in-Chief is at the bottom. The Commander-in-Chief takes orders form the CDs and Gorosei, while CPO does not report or take orders from the Commander-in-Chief. They only listen to the CDs and Gorosei. Kong's job is pretty much watching over the marines.

Remember how the gods in Wukong's story viewed him as nothing more than a dog? To the Gorosei, everyone in the WG and marines are just tools for them to use in their journey to world domination. They are just monkeys dancing in the palm of their hands and Kong is the highest(and lowest) ranking monkey of them all. He is pretty much the "king" of the "monkeys."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kong getting the Monkey King fruit is very fitting. Monkey King Kong(which is another prim ape reference and King Kong was the king of his island). Kong has a huge build so he most likely has insane brute strength. Given the possible abilities of speed, transformation and cloning, Kong very much brings justice to the postion of Fleet admiral and Commander-in-Chief. He just might be the toughest enemy in the final war(behind Akainu etc.).

Great theory M8, I readt it all, everything makes sense !

But I don't think "Monkey King" would be a fruit, I mean a fruit give you one ability, not multiples abilities.

I never said Kong would have all those abilities. I was listing the abilities of Sun Wukong himself to give you all an idea of what Kong might be able to do.

If Kong does have the SWK Zoan fruit, he'd be above Sakazuki
Old age is a ***** you know. His strength, speed and effectiveness of his abilities could've decreased with age.

I dunno about effectiveness, yeah, his speed will have gone down but his strength is still sky high... His fruit could grant him extra speed anyway so...
