What makes them different besides where they originated?
Why do you prefer one over the other?

What is the american version of anime?

From what I know, manga is only written by one guy, the mangaka. Comics, however, are written by many people. Usually, there are writters and drawers working together in the issues.
You can also see that there are many comics connected, sometimes evne by another comic(avengers, for exemple)
Comics seem to last more, way more than manga.
Comics have narrators sometimes, in some parts, and that's not common in manga

I guess I like manga more, but there are mnay cooll comics.

I guess it would be cartoons/animated series(like avengers EMH, young justice, justice league, spetacular spider man, etc) but they are focused on children mainly.

The style, production, and in many cases the plot. However, there are some examples that negate the logic.

Also, color is the difference for many.

Manga has a particular look. And usually takes place in japan.Japanese culture is prominent in it. character looks vary but are usually on the unrealistic side.

Comics are more multicultural. Since it's USA. and scientific.FULL OF PROPAGANDA. And can be drawn any type of way.

Comics are ever changing and never end so I prefer the manga

Just the style pretty much. Comics are usually a lot more extravagant and flamboyant than manga. Plus, how often do you see a black-and-white comic book?

Cartoons.

Not a fanboy, just a fact backed up by the manga.

Superman- multiverse buster, multiverse lvl durability. Superman is not even the strongest char.

Goku- galaxy buster(he is close to bills', who was said to be galaxy buster and nothing more) best case scenario galaxy lvl durability.

Goku loses, and that's just superman.

Well Comics don't necessarily follow a certain storyline. There are many different comic storylines taking place in one universe.

I guess you could say there are storylines for specific characters, and then there are storylines for multiple characters, and then there storys that the WHOLE universe(all the characters) take part in, and there are also crossover stories, AND there a spinoff stories.

Both are different and awesome in their own way. Anime is more of a single story while a comic can have multiple stories going on at once.

Cartoons are American anime I guess. I think it's all cartoons. personally. All drawn and animated, you know?. Shows like Avatar, Young Justice, Xiaolin Showdown, Avengers: EMH, and many more are major favorites of mine and are as big as anime is in Japan.

I like comics more. I'm just not an big manga/anime guy. A long time ago, I would've said manga because I like a linear story more, but I've changed. I like having multiple stories, but more importantly, I'll read multiple comics because I love and am familiar with the characters in it. As I said, I'm not really into anime/manga.

my greatest issue with comics is the fact that there are like a trizillion versions of each character....and to explain that they created all those millions of dimenssions.. which i think is a bit...well too much^^ its only a way to make more money out of the (more or less) same characters and story. mangas have usually more plot and more feelings to them as well as education. imo manga>comics, though i do enjoy them too^^
