Not uncommon for people of his presumed age range, Cole has a relatively boyish demeanor; one that belies his otherwise unique circumstances and history. Cole has a surprisingly pale complexion with a light brushing if brownish-red freckles that caress lightly across the bridge of his nose and above his cheek bones, piercing seafoam-green irises with a head of platinum blonde hair that falls in something of a straight patchiness down to it's ends that reach just above his shoulders. While from a distance his hair may appear silk-like, the nearer one gets will begin to realize the true gruffness of his locks which stems from the constant use and sporting of his iconic winged leather hat.
While Cole tends to sport one particular attire more frequently -that of leather-padded pants and long-sleeved shirt that are near identical in coloration, as if having been cut from the same cloth-, it isn't uncommon for him to change up his choice of attire from time to time, often reflective on the season or his active engagements at the time. He has been seen wearing anywhere from donnish black and gold accented threads, to traditional casual attire such as t-shirts and jeans.

Cole's true personality was once far more complex, however after his near death experience a considerable amount of his personality was buried underneath the trauma of his life. Having been possessed by the spirit of his ancestor, Cole speaks in an archaic and cryptic fashion, though often misguided the spirit is incredibly compassionate and wants desperately to help people. Though after countless years in the afterlife, the spirit lacks the nuance of the average human, seeing things from a very strange perspective.

, though there are some who believe that he may be some sort of demon or specter pretending to be human. Cole himself is unsure of what exactly he is, and his unique set of abilities are unprecedented. Cole also has the uncanny ability to sense people who are in pain having a highly attuned sense of empathy. He uses this ability to find people in the most painful moment of their lives and offers them comfort without hesitation, judgement, or expectation of thanks. He is searching for his place in the world; an ally to those who wish to help others.Prior to his near death, the boy known as Cole was a member of the wraith clan that befriended a spirit of compassion. When Cole was around twelve years old, his father attempted to kill him, as he had Cole's mother, for having "evil" in him. Cole hid with his younger sister Bunny, and accidentally killed her while trying to keep her quiet. Cole later killed his father by sinking a dagger into his heart. The dagger had originally belonged to his mother, the only piece of the wraith clan folk she'd kept.

, as is customary for young people who have deliberately caused injury or death to others. The spirit would later recall that his human counterpart suffered beatings and "worse than beatings" from the officers.While an inquiry was supposed to follow his arrest, a new officer filled out the paperwork incorrectly, which resulted in Cole being placed in one of the most remote cells and forgotten. He eventually nearly starved to death. As the commander deemed Cole "a possessed abomination waiting to happen" and the officer responsible was sufficiently racked with guilt, he decided against punishing the templar and instead erased all records of Cole's existence. Unable to help the young man, the spirit instead became part of him, gaining his personality and memories upon his supposed death and becoming more corporeal in the process.
