Cold Heart, Dark Soul
The wind blows cold
It caresses my face, kisses my lips
Whispers in my ear
Telling me to come closer
It is eleven twenty-three
The night is dark
It captures my body, hugs me tight
The moon is my only source of light
A certain set of stars in the sky
They smile and wave hello
Happy they are, up there it seems
They twinkle like a sunlit stream
I raise my hand to wave back
They vanish without farewell
I frown in silence, I frown and think
But now I hear a knocking from within
There is this creature waiting to come out
It bangs the barrier of my body
Struggling, yet pleading
Dying to be breathing
I am reminded of the hard times
The internal war
Every battle drained me
Every battle left a scar
I remember why I came here
Underneath the expanse of sky
This place is my solace
This place I call mine
An outcast is what I am
Nothing more, nothing less
So let me tell you my condition
Before I lay my head to rest
So cold, so dark, so lonely
My heart has become so cold
My soul has become so dark
And I have become so lonely
