Both Madara and Izuna were defeated by a sword wielded by a senju

Also it was shown that it was the Uchiha ancestor, not the senju ancestor that wielded a sword

it's ironic because the sword represents violence and power, and a senju wielded it/killed with it when they are supposed to represent peace and "good"

It is rather ironic now that I think about it. But a sword is a common weapon.

Then they should have been monks rather than ninja. I don't find it ironic since swords would have been and were common weaponry at the time

The final image clearly shows tenten wielding a staff and hashirama facing her.

that's what the manga portrayed them as....what more can I say

and as I've said, Senju, especially Hashirama and Tobirama who are all about protection and peace use a sword to kill

actually kakashi finished him off and the pain bodies weren't "alive" they were dead puppets
