Cofused about something. [Sasuke Fans Read]
This is the only thread I've made in favor of Sasuke, but as I've said many times before, regardless of my dislike for a character I still have no issue giving them credit where credit is due, and something occurred to me earlier today when I was browsing through some jutsu that made me start wondering. Admittedly this is relying somewhat on speculation but it seems well within reason.
After being teleported to the genesis dimension by Kaguya, Sasuke immediately showed that he was able to still perform summonings to this dimension. Not going to get into the whole issue of whether the hawk did or didn't have the Rinnegan or whether it was the result of the animal path, the important thing is he was still able to perform the summoning and just as important is the fact that since the hawk lacked any chakra receivers, and since Sasuke has summoned them before, we can reasonably conclude it was a normal summon, and thus for whatever reason, summonings were unaffected by IT. Moreso I would even go as far as to say that the snakes of Ryuchi cave were even more likely to have escaped its effects since they were underground, and I'm going to take a bit of a leap and assume that even though IT was said to shine through obstacles it doesn't just shine through the entire earth. In addition, of course the summoning was released, meaning not only can a summoning be brought from earth to Kaguya's dimension but it can also be returned. We already have a precedent in the manga, regardless of how much of an asspull it may have been, that when a summoner is physically inside of the summon, they are transported along with the summon wherever they go.
Now here's where the real speculation starts....
When Juubito was preparing to fire 4 bijuudama within the confines of his barrier, while everyone else was panicking and Naruto and Minato were preparing a mass FTG teleportation, Sasuke and Juugo's plan was to use summoning to escape. Now based on what we know so far in the series, we can logically assume that Sasuke intended to summon Aoda again, who is the only summoning we know of that he currently has that is large enough to fit him, juugo and naruto inside of him. Then release the summoning to bring them outside of the barrier. As proof that that was his plan, we also know that at the time everyone at the battlefield was currently inside of the barrier, meaning no one was outside of the barrier to aid Sasuke with this maneuver in any way. Now I could also speculate that Sasuke possibly had some other technique up his sleeve to either directly summon Aoda outside of the barrier, or to return them all back to the battlefield from the Ryuchi Cave, which is logically the location Aoda would return to upon being released. Either way, just releasing the summon with them inside of Aoda should've been enough to bring them outside of the barrier, possibly far away from the battlefield, but still outside the barrier. I will add though that if this was indeed Sasuke's plan then it would've been illogical for him to have planned to do it if he could only bring them outside of the barrier by sending them all the way to ryuchi cave.
Now by grouping these conclusions together, I can't help but wonder one thing. When Sasuke was trapped in the desert dimension, he could have very possible summoned Aoda, climbed inside, released the summon and returned back to Earth, now granted this would have been a double edged sword, since he would then be incapable of helping in the battle against kaguya, but the point is he most likely could have done it. Going one step further, I feel like he could have also directly returned the 4 of them back to earth at any time with the same strategy, so long as he did it while he was still in the same dimension as Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi. Of course, again, it wouldn't have really been an advantage for all 4 of them to be back on Earth and away from the person they were trying to seal, but this is all more of a proof of concept rather than a "he should've done this because it would be a good move" theory.
Now before anyone chimes in, I'll go ahead and critique my own theory. Yes it's possible Sasuke was referring to a completely new and unknown summoning technique when he was trying to escape the barrier. Yes it's possible that the summoner can only travel with the summon if the summon is being summoned (yeah tongue twister) I say that because Manda was never actually released when he was summoned, he was summoned to Sasuke's location, and then summoned again away from that location by Suigetsu.
As an addendum, I will also say that just based on the maneuvers used for Sasuke's manda escape alone, it is entirely possible that Naruto would've been able to use the same method to escape Kaguya's dimensions had he needed to. For example: Real Naruto gets stuck in desert dimension while his clones are in the genesis dimension, the real Naruto summons Gamabunta, climbs in his mouth, then a clone summons Gamabunta along with the real Naruto to his location in the opposite dimension. That's just going off of what we saw with the manda escape now, if the summoner can travel with the summon by releasing it, that would mean Naruto could not only escape the desert dimension by releasing a summon that he's inside of, but his clone could then summon them right back to the opposite dimension from earth.
Thoughts?
TLDR; Sasuke and Naruto could've both theoretically escaped any of Kaguya's dimensions using summoning.
