Why do you believe deathnote was better? Is there a specific part that stood out? ect.....

Well to keep this brief, I love the whole concept of a cat and moust serial killer with like a supernatural twist to it (the shinigami). The suspense is unreal as all I could think was who's going to die next and whatnot. It challenges two of the greatest minds in the series and puts them to the test.

I couldn't even follow Code Geass for longer than 6 episodes, Death Note despite all of it's excessive dialogue managed to captivate me from the get-go.

I like better Death Note because it has better story line.
Deathnote no doubt had a great story line however i believe in terms of overall writing Code Geass is superior. Deathnotes second part in terms of writing paled in comparison to the first and i felt it was rushed. I go into more detail in the thread in my signature.

I agree to some extent but death note was not aiming for explosions and epic battles. its aim was to work your brain and built intensity through strategy and crazy twists. The death note concept never bothered me in fact it was the opposite. I was more disappointed with the overall writing of part two.

Deathnote, because it was just dark the moment it started.

It took me a while to get into the feel of Code Geass.

It takes a while to get really good, but if you haven't already finished it you should.

In Death note I didn't understand Light he could've used Misa Misa so much better to killed ppl, or when his father died he could've killed the remainin detectives so no one would stop him but he just failed in my eyes

Code Geass - more action, more intense plot, and just when we thought Lelouch was really an evil SOB...
Ending was epic.

Death Note wasn't bad, it just...kinda sucked after L died, and I felt after that they were trying to squeeze out more plot...

Death Note was very good all the way up until L died. After that it was pretty lackluster.

I've just started with Code Geass a couple days ago and while it's interesting so far, it hasn't immediately gotten me hooked like Death Note did.

It will just wait the writing is solid throughout the series.
