Gandalf, upon seeing the Akatsuki-clad man, simply releases water based chakra beneath the man's position creating a relatively large pond beneath the surface of the earth directly below his feet. The pond would form without any signs to alert his basic senses and would, as such, rest beneath the earth silently. Then, Gandalf would begin weaving a series of hand seals. The first seal formed would cause the water beneath the man to change to a highly flammable oil based substance - once again completely unknown to him. Continuing the series of hand seals without stopping an additional two would be formed without pause. The effects would be immediate when the air behind the man would condense forming a dark spirit which would immediately wrap itself around the man causing small superficial cuts and scratches and locking him in place thus restraining movement.
