and it was Minato who engaged A/Bee in battle to prevent them from accomplishing their mission. No order of retreat was given.

we can currently only speculate when it comes to the ftg mark, but it could be possible that bee is still marked. not saying that he is, but it could be.

minato received the order to retreat, but was re-engaged by ay before he could leave and therefore continued the fight.
if you read chap 542-543, it's quite clear that minato never truly had the intention to kill them, instead he taught them a life lesson, like asking ay who bee holds most important.

this is a pretty good question. minato can be both kind-hearted and cold-blooded depending on the situation, but since minato was actually retreating after receiving the order and even went so far to lecture them, i'd say yes, he would have spared him.

2.soloed fodder sound ninjas
3.soloed almost dead,weak, fragile, no ninjutus orochimaru

fight with Bee is not a solo match. sasuke had team taka, which saved sasuke's ass for multiple times
fight with Dazou , Karin helped sasuke gather intel, there was tobi to distract dazou, Tobi saved sasuke from that last jutsu of Danzou otherwise sasuke would be dead

Now lets talk about Itachi

1.Soloed Orochimaru and Deidara during conversation when they were not aware of fight scenario
2.Soloed kid naruto who didn't knew anything about Ms genjutsu
3.Soloed kid sasuke and tormented poor kid
apart from this itachi hasn't soloed any1

Itachi needed help from Obito to kill whole uchihaa clan. Obito doing most of the killing.
Itachi tagged team with kisame hence we sholdnt count itachi putting kakashi into genjutsu as a solo fight
Itachi +kisame ran away from jiraiya hence jiraiya soloed both of them
Edo Itachi + Sasuke defeated kabuto combined hence it wasn't a solo act

The real solo king is Minato
1.Minato soloed A and B many times but didn't killed them due to compassion
2.Minato soloed Obito two times without breaking a sweat. the same obito who enslaved Itachi and manipulated sasuke. Itachi couldn't even scratch obito's eye by amatersu in a ambush attack but minato wrecked the pieces out of obito in first part and then slashed his neck in current arc.

3. Minato soloed Full Powered Kyubii alone and sealed it to make his son Naruto O.P while sealing the half of kybi into himself just to get revived as edo and now he is kicking every1 ass in current form. so much intelligent minato.

4. Minato soloed kyubii full powered TBB and now he soloed JUbbi's full powered world's strongest TBB without any1 ever getting hurt. This feats cant be matched by even SO6P . dat minato

5.Minato help win 3rd shinobi war all on himself. Minato soloed 3rd shinobi war
6.Minato soloed whole platoon of ninjas in a blink of eye alone.

By feats itachi was pretty weak he's more hype than anything,and now he's pretty much at the bottom of the list..U mad?

I don't like the solo king crap, but he did beat a lot of powerful people one on one and a horde of fodder, and beat more people than any single character. Team Yamato, 1000 fodder, Deidara, Danzo, Orochimaru, Naruto three times, Gozu and Meizu, Gaara, Samurai fodder, that chakra suction guy Yoroi or whatever, the original Zetsu and a bunch of his clones, and technically Itachi, though that one obviously doesn't count. Seems like a lot of people to me. Itachi is in the running, but he only ever soloed Kakashi, Kurenai and Orochimaru. I suppose he did solo half the Uchiha, and I should probably throw Sasuke in there as well as he would have soloed him. Minato is also in the running, but only ever soloed Obito. He even needed help against those fodder in the war, as they threw is Kunai for him. He didn't solo Ay and Bee, in fact it would've ended badly for both him and Bee. Naruto isn't even competition because for all of part two, he only ever soloed the Third Raikage, speaking of which, didn't solo 10000. He merely fought them and died in the process.
