You say that without knowing what the Namikaze clan's true heritage is..................
Yes, you are right. I don't know the namikaze clan's true heritage. May be kishi will reveal it once. Fact still stands that minato doesn't have a dojutsu or other KG and can keep up with the strongest shinobi's. IMO that's exactly what makes him a true genius:D

I thought this thread was supposed to be about the five Hokage, but clearly it was a disguised title, this is actually about a Hiruzen fanboy who hates the fact that Minato surpassed him by miles long ago.

Hiruzen's title as the god of shinobi doesn't mean shit really, Pein was hailed as a true god and was hailed as undefeatable by the whole of Ame and Konan, and even the Akatsuki members thought he was undefeatable, including Tobi, Zetsu, and Kisame and they all couldn't believe that he had been beaten, although he was actually beaten by talk no jutsu in the end. So really, Hiruzen's title means shit now that there is another god who was actually hailed by many S class shinobi.

Heck even Fukusaku (Pa) said that Pein was too strong and undefeatable without knowledge of his powers.

Now we go to Minato, A, an enemy village Kage said that he believed Minato could never be surpassed. Kakashi, a smart and elite jounin, said that Naruto was the only one who could surpass the Fourth, and Jiraiya said that everyone pailed in comparison to the fourth. Not to mention that the fourth is the ONLY one that has EVER had a FLEE ON SITE ORDER on him. Naruto also hailed Minato as the greatest Hokage (if Iruka's words should count then so will Naruto's, besides Naruto had a far greater bond with the third at the time but still hailed the fourth as the greatest.) Yamato didn't even believe it was possible to surpass the fourth when Kakashi said that Naruto was the only one that could do it. Anko also said that she wished the Fourth was still alive to take care of Orochimaru when Hiruzen said that there was no one in the village capable of taking out Oro.

My point here, believe it or not is not to prove Minato> Hiruzen or Hiruzen<Minato using manga people's words , my point here is that the words of the people in the manga are unreliable because Kishi tried to make them like real people, and real people, just like in this thread and others, will say things that are biased, not well thought out, or influenced by their circumstances, that is why there have been so many contradictory and false staements made by people in the manga.

Now if the Raikage and Tobi, who was able to make himself and sasuke intangible before the Raikage could hit him at fool speed, were not fast enough for Minato, then Hiruzen certainly isn't.

The argument that Hiruzen must have a way to counter FTG out of his so called one thousand jutsu is also invalid, it isn't even speculation, it sounds more like wishful and hopeful thinking really, or worse, rabid fanboyism as there is absolutely no substance to that claim, Kakashi has over one thousand jutsu, does he now also magically have a counter for FTG?

Another thing is this thing about people saying that Minato is just FTG and rasengan and there is no way that FTG and Rasengan > one thousand jutsu, which is nonsense, Minato isn't just FTG and rsengan, transportation barrier, which pawned Kyubi's TBB with ease > any one thousand jutsu that Hiruzen has, because Hiruzen certainly doesn't have something more powerful then that.

Contract seal> enma summoning technique.

Uzumaki seals and Barriers > One thousand Jutsu, and don't even start with that 'we haven't seen any of those seals from Minato bull', if you do say that, then be a man and also say that you haven't seen those so called one thousand jutsu that Hiruzen supposedly has, the law can't only work for one person, it hads to be applied to both. We know from Kushina that Minato knows many seals and is a master of space time and barriers, if you claim you haven't seen them and hence they don't count, remember that you haven't seen the so called one thousand jutsu/mastery of all konoha jutsu nonsense.

Plus we also know that Minato had elemental ninjutsu, Kakashi said that a person became recognised as a jounin in konoha when said person mastered two nature affinties and also said that Minato had planned to add an affinity to the rasengan, two statements that prove that Minato had elemental ninjutsu, he didn't use it simply because he didn't need to when he could kill you in a literal flash instead of going through a long chain of hand seals and using jutsu that almost never hit their opponents anyway from what we have seen of elemental ninjutsu in the manga. But once again if you refute his elemental ninjutsu because you haven't seen it then you will have to refute Hiruzen's mastery of all Konoha jutsu coz you haven't seen it.

If we take the skills that Hiruzen has shown and what Minato has shown, Minato>>>>Hiruzen.

If we take the so called mastery of over one thousand jutsu into consideration and we take Minato's MANY uzumaki seals and barriers/space time techs that Kushina said he has, and we know he has, and his elemental ninjutsu that he obviously has, and summoning of ma and pa that he OBVIOUDLY has as a toad summoner, then once again, MInato>>Prime Hiruzen.

1) Hashiram/Minato
2)Minato/Hashirama
3)Tobirama
4)Hiruzen
5)Tsunade

Gave Hashirama first because he had nine bijuu under his control in his prime and his own amazing power on top of that, put him on par with Minato if the contract seal takes away his control of bijuu the same way it did to Tobi and because of transportation barrier and ridiculous illusiveness of FTG.

Tobirama third because of being hailed as a master strategist, after watching Kisame, then I know that Tobirama's water techs must have been OP if he could create lakes out of thin air. Edo tensei also an amazing trump card and if he was really a space time master like Tobi and Minato, then need I say more, and the raijin no ken must have complemented his water techs well. If I knew more about his space time tech I might have even placed him alongside his brother and Minato, but sadly we don't but his edo wouldn't work against Hashirama's nine bijuu and wouldn't work against Minato's contract seal, so I put him third.

Hiruzen is fourth because he aint shown any special ability really that would give someone and S class trump card, he seems to just use ordinary techniques well or just learn other people's work off of the forbidden scroll of seals. But I think he is way better then Tsunade, who was outclassed by pre time skip Kabuto even though he was holding back, pathetic really.

I dont think the gap between Tobirama and Hashirama was that big. After all, Tobirama was the best water user ever, as well as better than all the Kages (except maybe Minato) as far as Space/Time Jutsu is concerned. It took two Nine Tales powered Kage level ninja, assisted by 18 other elite assasins to kill him. Hiruzen would be the best of the Kages, followed by Hashirama, Tobirama, then Minato.

Power, techniques, knowladge is not important, what is more important is wisdom , the understanding to use power-technique-knowladge. And I think we can't judge that from just a manga ...

in the hiruzen vs oro fight, hiruzen had to figth the first and the second hokage, right?
but kabuto said himself that the edo tensei of oro wasn't a complete version.

this is what i think.....

oro can use them, but not on full power!!! all there moves yes but not at the same power as the used to be

we know the third was old, and master of thousends of jutsus but i still think that the first, second and fourth hokages beat him, in his prime i don't know, we have no profe

Ok so, LOL, I've seen that some people are slightly confused about who the strongest Hokage is.

Right, let me explain real easy for some of you................Minato is not the strongest Hokage. He is third strongest at best.

1. Hiruzen PRIME
2. Hashirama Senju
3. Minato Namikaze
4. Tobirama Senju
5. Tsunade

Ok people need to realise Hiruzen in his prime was actually the strongest hokage. I cannot stress the importance of the word 'PRIME' enough when talking about Hiruzen.

And the ultimate conformation (credit to Viewtiful for pointing this out):
Even if you point out that Iruka could have some bias or that characters that have stated this don't know anything, Kishimoto himself says in every databook that Hiruzen in his prime was the most powerful Hokage. In the first databook alone, this is stated at least three times:

Page 117: "He is such a genius ninja that he was even called the 'Professor', and he still garners everyone's respect as the strongest Hokage in history." (「„プロフェッサー”と呼ばれたほ の天才忍者であり、歴代最強の火影 として皆の尊敬を集め続ける。」, "'Purofessā' to yobareta hodo no tensai ninja de ari, rekidai saikyō no Hokage toshite mina no sonkei o atsume tsuzukeru")

Page 119: "'Strongest in history', 'genius', et cetera, the words used to describe the Third Hokage are filled with respect." (「„歴代最強”„天才”など、三代 火影を形容する言葉は賞賛に満ちて いる。」, "'Rekidai saikyō' 'tensai' nado, Sandaime Hokage o keiyōsuru kotoba wa shōsan ni michite iru.")

Page 265: "The Third is called the strongest, even among the past Hokage, and he is even admired as the 'God of Shinobi'."
(「三代目は歴代火影の中でも最強と われ、„忍の神”と謳われたことも 。」, "Sandaime wa rekidai Hokage no naka demo saikyō to iware, 'Shinobi no Kami' to utawareta koto mo")

Being old=/= being irrelevant. Both the 2nd AND the 3rd databook state the same thing.

I know alot of you don't want to accept it because you've only seen the old man version (which i'll admit would lose to Minato probably), but in his prime he was said to have surpassed his predessors and was known as the 'God of Shinobi'.

Hashirama Senju's feats speak for themselves. I don't think I need to waste energy trying to convinve some of you who are well and truley baffled: Hashirama > Minato.

You could argue, if you wanted, Hashirama > Hiruzen due to feats etc, but just understand what 'knowing all of the jutsu available in konoha actually means'..............However, I admit this top position is easily interchangeable, and it's a VERY even argument when trying to decide who's stronger out of Hiruzen and Hashirama.

The fact is, even at the age of 69 Hiruzen was still able to hold his own against edo Hashirama and Tobirama, not to mention Orochimaru. Add to that the fact he still had enough in the tank to use Death reaper jutsu on himself and 2 other shadow clones. This at age 69.

Why FTG is useless vs Hiruzen:
Minato needs to put seals on things. Tobi had no knowledge of this. Hiruzen did have knowledge of this, he wouldn't be dumb enough to go near a seal. Minato has to throw his Kunai if he wants to do FTG v2; easily countered by Hiruzen shadow clone shuriken.
You must be registered for see images

Plus, Enma will keep Minato away from placing a seal on Sarutobi
You must be registered for see images

I gave Minato the benefit of the doubt when it came to Tobirama Senju because we know little about his abilities but i'm sure there are some people who'd argue he could defeat Minato.

Anyway, I was just clearing that up because some people were a little confused, especially when it came to Minato U_U
Dude this has to be one of the best and most official arguments i have ever seen as much as i am a Minato fanboy the facts remain exactly how you put it the 3rd was just the truth hands down......but, eventhe 3rd. himself stated thet when he was searching for his successor for hokage he needed someone who surpasses him in all aspects. Secondly i wish people would stop making it sound like Minato really needed those damn kunai to do sufficient damage to an opponent so let me clear this up. All Minato has to do to create a seal is make physical contact with anything he could leave them on kunai, trees, the earth, and even people now if you factor in the fact that he's moving so fast that he phases through time and space well thats just incredible. Lastly don't forget that this guy(Minato) created a huge seal without the use of his kunai just by extending his hands that swallowed up the nine-tails' tailed beast bomb and transported it outside of the battlefield, if thats not a big reason to give a flee on sight order i'd hate to see what is lmao.

This is a Kishi interview.... I think it gives answer to the topic

"SJ = Shonen Jump
MK = Masashi Kishimoto

SJ: There's many rumours regarding Madara being the absolute final villain. Is this true?

MK: Madara being the final villain is yet to be seen and I can't let that information out just yet. But he will play a big part as a villain, that's for sure.

SJ: Now that it's officially known that Yondaime is Naruto's father, will you show more of Minato?

MK: Yes, definitly. I actually wanted to reveal more about Yondaime earlier, but other characters were in development and some fights still had to be dealt with.

SJ: While we're at it... could you please tell us if Minato was the strongest shinobi that ever lived?

MK: Hmmm, it's a tricky question. As far as dead shinobis goes, then yes, he's the strongest. I'd say that Sandaime shares the number one spot with him. As far as living shinobis goes... well, without going into many details I'd have to say no. There's a couple of shinobis whose stronger than him.

SJ: Now that Itachi seems to be dead, what is Kisame going to do now?

MK: Kisame has always come off as a sidevillain whose only purpose is to travel along Itachi. But to my surprise, Kisame has gone from an unpopular character to someone whose more popular than Deidara after the Gai-fight. I won't say too much, but Kisame is a character that wont die anytime soon. I will definitly develop on his character more and possibly make him...

SJ: Make him what?

MK: It's a surprise. "

In the manga and the anime all people have admired Minato... people always saying " the fourth was the strongest " specially the villagers.. and shinobies from Konoha..
I'm not saying anything.. The Kishis opinion says everything... its your decision to accept it or not
