My intention is not to bash Hinata or any of her fans
I'm just merely giving my opinion
Before I get started: I'll tell u straight out. I do not like Hinata because she is one of the biggest Naruto fanboys second only to Gaara
The reason she exists is because of Naruto
She is the embodiment of Naruto's weakness - the highly insecure feelings
which is why whenever Naruto is in trouble, she always rushes to save him and protect him
She saves Naruto and vows to protect him with her life not because of love, but because Naruto's character has imprinted all over her soul
In other words, Hinata is just an extension of Naruto's character
Put it in this way: Naruto is like the control center and Hinata is like a sub division thats supports the control center
Naruto can live without Hinata because he has other subdivisions but Hinata cannot live without Naruto
Hinata's purpose for acknowledgement from her clan and peers basically originated from Naruto
Its okay to look up to someone and try to mimic what he or she does - I'm not insulting her for that
But the mere fact that she always has Naruto in her mind while ignoring everyone else is weird
For example,
Look at Neji's death
She doesnt even care or acknowledge her own feelings for Neji but rather focuses more on Naruto's feelings and setting him straight
Neji, her cousin and one of the closest people to her died in front of her but wait, how does Naruto feel about this is what she has in her mind
People say she is a good written character because unlike Sakura, the main heroine, she supports and saves the MC
But let me ask u guys something What is her reason for saving him
Most people would answer is cause she loves Naruto
But I'm telling u thats not fully right. Shes supports Naruto because her own selfish desire of being acknowledged and pursuing her dreams would disappear if Naruto dies.
The reason she wants her father's acceptance is because that is what Naruto would have done. Her whole ninja way stems from Naruto's ideology and she cannot think of her goals or dreams without having Naruto involved in some way or fashion
IMO, she is a copy cat of Naruto's character. Her ideas and thoughts are not original. Because what Naruto wants, Hinata wants, what Naruto needs, Hinata needs
It is the same way with Gaara in a sense. Gaara cannot think without having Naruto in his mind
Hinata fans can bash me by bringing up Obito by saying that he is the same as Hinata because he couldnt accept reality and couldnt live properly because Rin died
However, Kishi has already proven that wrong by Kakashi's tnj about bonds and Obito's AU
I agree that Hinata and Obito are similar characters but only to a certain extent
Obito wanted acknowledgement and recognition and wanted to become Hokage and save the world was not because of Rin
Obito had no parents and was considered the "black sheep" in the Uchiha, he wanted acknowledgement because he felt he had no place in the world. He thought himself as a nobody
Rin was the only person who acknowledged Obito and shared the same dream and promise to save the world
When Rin died, Obito believed bonds would only cause more pain and suffering which is why he never returned to the village and strove to save the world in a different rather than become Hokage
Hinata is different in the sense that if Naruto dies, she would contemplate about committing suicide because she does not have her own set of ideals. Everything about Hinata belongs to Naruto. She strives to be a shinobi because of Naruto
