People seem to have the notion that you have to be looking at the moon at all times for the jutsu to work. Do you really think that Kishi is that stupid? Think about this:

Both izanami and kotoamatsukami affect targets regardless of eye contact or the 5 senses. Infinite tsukuyomi is a billion times stronger than those!!! What makes you think that infinite tsukuyomi would not have this property of affecting everyone on earth (except perhaps Naruto and Sasuke due to having 6 paths power) regardless of where they are looking?!!!

Also, even if they do have to look at the moon, where do you get this ridiculous notion that they have to keep looking at it for the jutsu to stay active. You only have to get caught in a genjutsu once for it to stay active! Think about it:

We have seen many sharingan users put people under genjutsu. Did they have to constantly be looking into their opponent's eyes? No!!! They did not!!!!! Once the person got caught, they were in there until the genjutsu finished.

Therefore it is stupid for people to be asking questions like "What happens when the moon goes down?" or "What if they just don't look at the moon?"

What writer would be soooooooooooooooooooooo freaking stupid to the point where they hype up an ultimate jutsu for many years, finally make it happen in the most epic chapter ever, and then give it such pathetic and pitiful weaknesses?!?!!!?!!!!!!!

Sorry if I seem to be overly ranting and what not, but if this jutsu has these weaknesses then I am going to be soooooooooooooooooooooooo pissed off that I will invent a machine that allows me to jump into manga worlds so that I can go into the world of DBZ, gain infinite power and immortality from Shenron, then jump into Naruto's world, kill Madara, take his shinju eye, use chaos control to freeze time and then go around to every living soul in the Naruto world and personally put them under the infinite tsukuyomi by holding their eyes open and ripping their eyelids to shreds so that they can't even blink!!!! That is how mad I will be!

Yeah but it's still Infinite Tsukyomi, which requires eye contact. The properties of other jutsu does not change the properties of this one.

Tsukuyomi only affects eye contact you dumbass.
The whole point of it being on the moon is for everyone to LOOK at it, DUH!
It isn't infinite izanami or infinite kotoamatsumaki which affect without eye sight.

True. The whole "putting everyone under genjutsu" would be pointless if it didn't put everyone under genjutsu.

Read my response below this one, but disregard the part about calling him dumb. You, unlike him, did not resort to stupid name calling so I am not calling you dumb.

You are a hypocrite to call someone dumb. Infinite tsukuyomi and tsukuyomi are not in the slightest the same jutsu! They just have similar names. Tsukuyomi is a mangekyou sharingan genjutsu. Does the Shinju's eye look like a mangekyou sharingan to you? Does it?!
