So I'm wasting time debating about Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu's effectiveness in that fight.

When sick Itachi could have killed Hebi Sasuke with just a kunai here:

As the clone COULD have curved kunai into his blindspots

(instead of rushing up front into his line of sight so Sasuke knew to block)

The defeat of Tsukuyomi was faked (Sasuke wasn't more skilled at genjutsu.)

And aside from the databook factually giving us their skills in genjutsu, we see:

You must be registered for see images

Getting by Amaterasu was faked (Sasuke isn't nearly as fast as the v2 Raikage.)

Plus look at even Naruto's latent reaction to Itachi's Amaterasu:

It's pretty clear Itachi can execute the jutsu fast as hell when he wants to.

Itachi used his top tier perception to predict all that and make it convincing

There is no point in explaining all that.

We already know Itachi didn't want to kill Sasuke, he was dying to just stay alive till the time comes he can finally fight Sasuke and lay to rest.

It's pretty clear that that's not the purpose of this thread.

It's pretty clear that was the purpose though?

Care to explain what the purpose was?

Seems more like a Sasuke bash to me tbh.

Hebi Sasuke was far below Itachi though... current Sasuke is right there with him. (Give or take a little.)

Hence why people erroneously use this fight to de-hype jutsu that Sasuke himself now has.

Sasuke was ale to beat tsukuyomi due to Curse Mark which is kind of SM.
It was legit cuz sasuke simply wasnt hit. If he was hit and survived we can say itachi went easy on him and so on.

Regarding clone and kunais. Plz sasuke could just duck his head lol. Chidory nagashi would blast it. In fact sasuke went easy in first rounds as he wasnt using CM to match itachi's speed and so on :p

That's one way to see it. Another way can be that he was losing the ninjutsu battle and ressorted to his most powerful MS technique just to survive against Sharingan Sasuke, which is really underwhelming

Curving kunai is a genin-class trick.

And that was not a real clone. Itachi was using genjutsu.

The defeat of Tsukuyomi was faked (Sasuke wasn't more skilled at genjutsu.)

That wasn't faked by Itachi. He might have purposefully allowed himself to be defeated, but the genjutsu was broken all the same.

And aside from the databook factually giving us their skills in genjutsu, we see:

Danzo was stating that the genjutsu Sasuke used on him, was not as powerful as Itachi's Tsukuyomi, because Tsukuyomi has a freely-controlled "time" aspect to it. He's not commenting that Itachi was generally more skilled with genjutsu, and Sasuke is arguably as good as Itachi is as far as casting genjutsu.

Getting by Amaterasu was faked (Sasuke isn't nearly as fast as the v2 Raikage.)
Not entirely true.

Itachi used his top tier perception to predict all that and make it convincing

Itachi merely has good instincts.

As good as his "perception" is however, it can betray him, which was what happened when Kabuto outsmarted him.

the only thing I think is wrong is the amaterasu couldn't be dodged part. Sasuke was already moving at the time, and naruto wasn't. if sasuke wasn't moving at the time then I don't think he could've dodged.

You contradicted yourself. Itachi protecting Sasuke there was a split-second instinct.

An protective brother, nothing more.

Wait, and how is "Sasuke isn't nearly as fast the v2 Raikage" not entirely true?

I think what he means is that Itachi didn't see Kabuto's move. He tried to protect Sasuke for nothing since Kabuto wasn't even attacking Sasuke, but him instead
