Hi guys, I would like to talk about Kakashi and Gai's rivalry, also prove that Kakashi wouldn't get stomped by Gai unless Gai uses Eight gate straight from begining. Here I go:
Yeah Kakashi may lost a lot of power due to Kamui loss, however it is not one sided match and kakashi has great chance to do it.
First, six gate opened Gai and kakashi fought againt Edo jinchurki v2 and hold their own:
^^ Kakashi wasn't even shown using Sharingan at all even although he has opened sharingan.
Kishi portrayed: Six Gate Maito Gai = Kakashi with just sharingan(arguable if used at all)
Second, Kakashi only admitted inferiority to Gai when he went Eight gate
^^ Kakashi's father Sakumo Hatake said to kakashi that once day Gai may surprass him. In real time Kakashi admitted it.
8 Gate Gai > Kamui Kakashi
Third, Kakashi at least can open One Gate... and it was before Timeskip. It is not farfetched to say that Kakashi may be able to open second or at the most third Gate.
Loss of sharingan/MS -> Use of Gate to boost himself
One Gate Kakashi >=Six Gate Gai
Fourth, Kakashi is more intelligent and clever as shinobi. He also has vast arsenal of technique copied thanks to sharingan. Kakashi is not pushover. Even if he would be below Seven Gate Gai then still his mind and techniques can make up this gap and they would be equal in the end.
Eight Gate is suicide move so Gai most likely don't risk use it.
Lastly, Everyone is fodder in front of Kaguya except Ootsutsuki and by Ootsutsuki powered Shinobi
