Ludwig van Beethoven commented the classical guitar was "a miniature orchestra in itself". Indeed, this instrument is very special.
Father of modern classical guitar is Andrés Segovia and his plays are enormously good, but Francisco Tárrega is also one of the greatest guitar virtuosi.
However, my favourite classical guitarist is Miloš Karadaglić. His debut album Mediterráno topped the classical charts around the world in 2011.

So, what about you, guys? Do you listen to classical guitar pieces? Who are your favourite classical guitarists?

Asturias is a beautiful piece, quite a lot of guitarists have covered it even though it was originally a piano piece.

I'd be a classical guitarist myself if I was willing to grow my nails out :p But that's not gonna happen. My favorite classical guitarist right now is Julian Bream, he truly plays everything with emotion and feeling.

I am also a big fan of Narciso Yepes and his work with the 10 string, his pieces have a lot of warmth and depth in them and the extra strings gives Narciso a wider range of material he can play, which is always a good thing ^.^

Ahh Asturias, a beautiful piece. Of all the interpretations I've seen I think Milos' sounds the nicest.

Julian Bream, although primarily a lute player, performs beautiful guitar pieces and whenever I see him play, it's clear that he puts a lot of emotion and feeling into what he's doing. I think that's something a lot of modern classical guitarists have lost in their interpretations.

Also I really like what Narciso Yepes does with the 10 string as well.

I just recently got into classical guitar after watching this guitar teacher perform at my college. I still don't have a big list of guitarists so if anyone has any good recommendations please pass them on :)
