I think you should read chapter one in order to fully enjoy chapter 2. Enjoy and comment. Thanks:cool:

Chapter 2: Upper Hand

“What the hell, why weren’t we told this in advance!!” I said.
“This changes everything.” Charm barked. “Do you know how much evil that sword can do. It almost whipped everyone off the planet!!!!”
“Yan defeated two of the three swordsmen.” I replied panicking. “How in the he-, I mean how are we going to defeat him, we’re just kids.”
“That sword is pure evil!!!” Victoria said in agreement.

I looked at the monks, they seemed rather calm looking at us freak out. Did they know something we didn’t.

“What are you guys smiling about?” Charm yelled again. “ You fed us with lies about how easy it’ll be to beat the Emperor, but now you tell us he has the darkness ability!!!”

“Patience, children of the corn.” Master Wu calmly responded. “Yes, the sword contains an immense amount of evil, but you all are underestimating your abilities as well. The Greats choose you three for a reason, and for that reason I believe you can do this.”

The monks nodded in agreement.

WTF???!!!

“We haven’t gotten our swords-” Master Wu interrupted me quickly.

“Right, you haven’t received them yet, but if the legend is true, when you use them a great power inside of you will awaken.”

Even though those words weren’t comforting I calmed down. Charm and Victoria did the same.

“The Lightning Emperor recently found Yan sword in search for the other three. It takes evil to find evil. It takes good to find good. It doesn’t take greatness to be great. To be great takes knowledge, endurance, and determination. And that you all have, my children. So if we may continue I would gladly bestow you all your swords.” Master Wu said.

We didn’t say anything. For some reason Master Wu had a way with words , but it was creeping me out how the monks continued to smile whenever Master Wu said something, better yet anything.

“Let start with Victoria.” Master Wu said stated as Victoria jumped at her name.

“Since I first met you Victoria I noticed you were never outspoken.” Master Wu began. “You said what was on your mind no matter what it was. You also applied that to your battle technique and skills. You seem very mystique and graceful in your training and fencing duels. Also, for some strange reason I noticed you had a connection with water.

Victoria eyes lighted up as a smile ran crossed her face

“You would sit under a waterfall sometimes challenging your endurance. Your movements were very fluid. You were gentle with the energy inside of you, by letting it flow your swords movement mimicked the elegance and it showed in your fighting style This is the way of a potential water swordsman. Or swordswoman. With this being the summary of my observance we have decided, your sword is the Aquarita sword. Come and receive your sword with it’s case .”

Victoria walked over to the monks looking happy go lucking. I wanted to laugh. She had the lamest type. But now that meant either Charm or I will get the lightning-flamerita sword. My heart started pounding and I had trouble breathing. I looked over at Charm and noticed he was shaking too. I mind getting the wind-earthrita sword. The wind and earth were good elements and the solid defense and speed coped with my abilities too.

Victoria received her sword form the monks and took it out of the case. It made a sharp metal sound that rang through the air. The sword was well crafted and had a beautiful blue color. The coloring on the swords looked as if water was actually flowing through it.

“Wow.” Victoria said as she sliced through the air. “Its so light. And this weird power. It feels like-”

Suddenly Victoria hands and body began to quiver gently. The sword started shaking and the blue color on it glowed a neon blue. The light started to shine brighter and it filled the room with it magnificent color.

“Whoa!!!”I said as the light nearly blinded me.

“Perfect, you are the reincarnation of Rinda!” Master wU said. The monks smiled again, nodding their head. “The world last hope is now beginning reborn again.”
“Wow, “ Charm said covering his eyes. “That was awesome!!”
“I’m actually the reincarnation of Rinda.” Victoria said smiling as she put her sword back into her case and put her case on her back. Victoria stood there for a while, recovering from being shaken up and eventually walked back into the line with a big smile on her face.
“Nice.” Charm said.
“Thanks a lot baby.” Victoria replied

I almost laughed but had to hold it in. Charmed shook his head. Master Wu started talking again.

“Charm,” Master Wu said as Charmed was startled at the sound of his name. “When I first saw you I noticed you boldness. As you changed and grew during your training so did your pride. You lack of cowardness and low self-esteem prove you to be a solid young men. You worked hard and love to be around nature. You would even silent yourself sometimes around nature too. This is why you are receiving the Windearthrita sword. Come and receive your sword and case.”

At that moment it was like a bomb just hit me. I couldn’t even think straight . If Charm had the Windearthrita sword then I would have the lightning flamerita sword.. Charm was shocked when Master Wu said the sword name . He walked slowly and received his sword from the monks.

All eyes were on Charm as he took his sword out of the case. He held it up. It had a nice, slim look and it looked pretty neat with the white and green design on it. I couldn't even stand still because the tension was killing me. My underarms were sweating. If the light did shine then it was Charms sword. If not then... I didn’t want to think about it.

Charm stood there, the monks stood up concerned.

“The light isn’t shining.” Charm said confused. “Is this my sword?”

Charm twisted the sword around as a metallic sound echoed through the air.

“Could it be we--” Master Wu stopped immediately questioning himself .

As he said that is was like a knife went through my heart. Please, no!!!!!

“Maybe we made a mistake,” Master Wu said confused.

Charm turned the sword in his hand and suddenly the sword started to shake. He almost dropped it. The sword began to glow green and white. The light wasn’t as blinding as Victoria’s sword but the green light and the sun combine almost blinded me. I covered my eyes a little. Master Wu regained his assuring expressions as the monks sat down again.

Charm hands were shaking as the swords brightness died down and it went back to normal.

“So you are the incarnation of Hebei,” Master said.
“So cool,” Charm said as he put his sword away and walked back. “I felt a sudden surge of power run through me. Like something awakened.”
“Thats the power you always had in you.” Master Wu said. “Now to the chosen one. Clash.”

I almosted died when he said my name. I couldn’t believe it. I had the sword. I wanted to jump for joy. I didn’t even think I was going to get it, but who gives a shit!!!!

Charm walked over to me and punched my shoulder with a smile. I raised my fist and he fisted bumped me.

“Clash,” Master Wu said. “ You are the chosen one and therefore will be the one who will defeat the Emperor. When I studied your abilities I noticed your speed and mercilessness . In order to be a lightning and flame type combined you have to have both of those qualities. You are also fierce in battle but you have a concerning mindset. You’re not too quick to end your opponent yet you are determined to win no matter the situation. This is why anyone around you can sense the spirit and aurora within yourself . Come and receive your sword and case.”

By the time he finished I was getting my sword from the monks. It was very light, paper light actually, but it was solid metal, maybe steel.. I turned it around admiring the design and colors that shined. It had a goldish yellow and red color but the sword was a silver metal color like Charms and Victoria. I sliced it through the air and suddenly it began shaking vibrantly against my hand. My body started to shake and I almost lost my balance. The room filled with yellow and red color and then it died down. The monks stood up and whisper something to Master Wu. I put my sword back into its case and slung it across my back. I walked back in line.

“This is a start to a brighter future., you are the incarnation of Chorazin. You three are destined for greatness” Karze said with pure happiness in his voice . “Why won’t you three go outside and test them out as we talk.”
“I agree.” Master Wu said. “Practice sparring but don’t destroy the flower beds.”
“We’ll talk later in a hour.” Olito said. “ We must talk about your future training and where or not we will relocate.”

We nodded and walked outside into the courtyard. Charm spoke first.

“Clash, lets battle.” Charm said. “I have a feeling this won’t be like our previous ones.”
“Damn,” I said laughing. “ But I accept. I gotta test this out!”
“I thought Charm was going to get the LFR sword but it look like yo ass got it.” Victoria said trying to act disappointed.
“But you have that lame ass water sword.” I snapped back
“Guys, all our swords are good.” Charm said. “The three of us are going to defeat the Emperor, its just that will be mainly Clash job. But now that we have the swords for some reason I feel like we can win bro.”
“Same here. So where do we start?” I asked.
“Here’s fine .” Charm said
“I hope you win baby!!” Victoria yelled as she ran and sat on the bench.
“I’m not your baby Victoria.”Charm said. “Just stop.”
“Alright baby.” Victoria said again.
“Damn, whatever.” Charm said as he backed away . “Let do a Tai-quo battle.”
“Cool.” I said. “So we’ll start off with normal sword fighting and then we’ll use our sword’s elements . But which one.”
“I don’t know how that works, but we’ll see.” Charm said as he stood in a standard battle position. He performed a 180 degree pose with his arms and sword.
“Let’s go.” I said as I got into my Las-Dragon stance and took my sword out. It glistened in the light.
“That’s a defensive stance.” Charm said confused.
“I know, just start bro.” I replied.

Suddenly Charm ran toward me and the battle began. He swung his sword at my feet but I jumped and dodged it with great timing. As he tried to stand back I took my sword and slammed it against his sword. Sparks flew from the collision as he went flying backwards. Charm landed on the ground and slid to a stop.

“You’ll have to do better than that.” I teased.
“I know. I’m just warming up.” Charm said in agreement. Victoria sat with fear written across he face, worried if her little Charm was hurt.

Charm straightened his back and ran for another offensive attack again but I managed to reach him before hand. I took my sword and slammed it against his for a second time. He endured the blow and came for another blow but I attacked him again with another. He had an even harder time blocking that one and I kept going at him. Hit after hit. Blow after blow. Charm was in his Las-Dragon position blocking my sword attacks. The sound of metal rang through the air as if to replace the missing chirping birds.

I continued going at him but I had to dodge one of his moves when his sword went toward my face. I ducked and did a low kick. Charm dodged it and took his foot and put it behind mines. I tripped and fell as he came down with his sword toward my neck.

Shit!!!

I quickly rolled across the ground and jumped and the air. Charm turned around with his sword coming at me. I used my feet and pushed him backward a couple of feet. I landed on the ground safely as Charm used his feet to slide across the dirt which stopped him from falling.

“I almost killed you.” Charm said breathing heavy.
“Sure you did,” I replied coughing. “....there’s something called dodging.”
I began to run toward him as Charm switched to his Las-Dragon pose again. I hit my sword against his but he blocked it. I pushed down harder as he sword came closer to his face.

“Ahhhhhh!!” Charm screamed as he pushed me away. I went flying backwards into mid- air.

“Now we use our elements!” Charm said as he stabbed his sword onto the ground and human height dirt needless immediately began to consume the battlefield.

“What the hell!! When did he know how to do that!” I thought to myself. “Whatever, I gotta do something to stop it.”

The dirt needles were beneath me as the distance between me and the ground lessened.

Think, think, think!!

I took my sword and pointed it toward the spot I was going to land at. And then suddenly my sword turned a yellow color and a shot of yellow lightning blasted from my sword aiming for the ground . The lightning blasted against the dirt, ripping through the ground making his attack useless. Charm put his hand up to cover his head since dirt was flying everywhere. Victoria cover her herself too.

I landed on the grass safely. Ready in case Charm attacked again.

“Clash,” Charm said as he took his sword out of the ground. “Bro, that was awesome., when you learn out to do that.”
“I have no idea,” I said thinking. “It came without thought. Maybe its because we’re the Greats reincarnations, so its easier to fight? ”
“That’s probably what Master Wu was talking about,” Charm said. “He did say something about how it’ll be easier to fight and advance to a Lv. 2 swordsmen.”

I turned toward Victoria with an evil grin on my face. “Are you okay?”
“You did that on purpose!” Victoria yelled . “You ruined up my blue top!! It has dirt all over it.”
“That’ll be Charm’s fault.” I said laughing. “He is an earth swordsmen, I didn’t tell him to use that move. Now it’s in your hair, that’s my fault. Get mad at your boyfriend.”
“What!!” Victoria screamed touching her hair. “Ahhhh! Clash, you!!!”

Victoria jumped up from the bench and ran into the temple to fix her hair. Charm and I bursted into laughter.

“Bro,” I said wiping tears from my eyes. “You wanna finish that battle.”
“Maybe later.” Charm said giggling. “ But look at what we did to Master Wu flower bed, he’s going to kill us!!”

“Oh, shit.” I said. The flowers was as burned to a crisp and fresh soil was everywhere.
“You’re an earth guy, do something.” I replied
“Wait, I have an idea,” Charm said. “I might be able to fix this .”
“Then do it before he see us. ” I said looking toward the windows of the temple for Master Wu’s hawk like eyes.

Charm stuck his sword into the ground and at first nothing happened. But then the dirt started to move back to where it was originally was and the flowers gained its color back. New flowers began to grow as the burned flowers and grass were pulled under the ground. Once everything was back together the grass under my feet started to grow back evenly. This part was creepy as hell, my feet were moving by themselves.

“Whoa,” I said amazed. “ Nice bro, that an awesome ability!”
“I’m not done yet.” Charm said as a little plant like thing started to grow bigger. It grew larger until it was my about my height and the white leaves turned red then pink. It suddenly stopped growing.

“Damn bro,” I said. “ You took Master Wu tree and grew it. Sweet.”
“Yeah, he was growing that thing for a year now,” Charm replied. “I thought I should help him out a little.”

I sat down on the ground and Charm did the same. The clouds in the sky where moving slowly, as if they weren’t in a rush. I wish I felt like that.

“The next couple of months are going to be hard .” I said. “ We’re going to be training a lot now.”
“Yeah, tough shit is going to happen.” Charm remarked. “ We’ll get through it. We have to beat the Emperor no matter what.”
“That’s the thing,” I said. “ Everyone is making this seem so easily, what if we lose.”
“Don’t think like that bro,” Charm replied in a serious tone. “ I have faith in you, and I’ll be there when you need me the most. We’re kids, they don’t want to scare us. But as long as we know we have to work harder than ever before we won’t have to worry about it”
“Thanks.” I said yawning. Some time passed . “I didn’t get much sleep last night, I might take a short nap. Wake me up when.....”

I turned over to Charm. He was snoring and his eyes were closed. Typical Charm. I yawned again, looked up at the sky and and eased into a gentle sleep.....

__________________________________________________________________________

I was sitting at the kitchen table eating a sandwich as my mom and dad was talking in the living room. They were trying to whisper softly so I wouldn’t heard them. I just woke up and was really tired but my dad started talking about something being destroying. I stopped chewing and listened.

“They just burned down the Uwhona (u-who-na) Village, if they keep coming closer and get past the Nile River we’re going to have to leave soon.” My dad said keeping his voice low but sounding dismayed. The lower he whispered the more I listened.
“But where?” My mom said worried. “We don’t know anyone outside the village.I’m tired of leaving all time. But I know we have to. I wish someone would stick up to Yin and his soldiers. I use to like the Lightning Nation when I was a child.”
“Other towns have refugee sites. We can stay low there. “ My dad said lower.

Someone moved and sat down down again. I put my sandwich down. I didn't want to move. I liked my life the way it was.

“I talked to some of the elders of the village, they said that the King was sending troops along the Nile River to stop Yin from moving farther into the Fire Nation. If the reinforcements come then we won’t leave.”

I wasn’t able to make out who said it but I kept listening. I stopped sliding my feet across the floor.

“Don’t you have a brother in Uwhona?”

Silence.

“If they landed one finger on him I swear..” My dad voice started getting louder.

“Ssshhh, “my mom said. “We don’t want to worry Clash. He shouldn’t know about this until we have to tell him.”

“Have to tell me what.” I thought.

“Right,” my dad quieted down a bit. “We made a plan of where to go in case either of our villages were attacked. Tomorrow I’m going to met him at the Skinza (Skin-za) temple. That was where we said we’ll meet. When I pick him up I’ll come back.”
“But you’ll be going closer to Uwhona village” My mom said. “That’s dangerous. Not even you can handle those many soliders.”
“I’m going for my brother.” My dad said ending that part of the conversation. “Besides, some old friends of mines are coming with me to find any other survivors.”

Silence.

“Be sure to take your sword and your with healing herbs.” My mom said getting up. “I’ll pack them now.”

Silence

“I’ll pack, you worry about Clash and pack if we need to leave.” My dad said.

I heard footsteps coming toward the kitchen. I picked up my sandwich and took a big bite. Mom and Dad walked in with Dad holding my mother’s waist. I liked when he did that. He whispered something in her ear and she smiled. She noticed me looking at her and spoke.

“Clash, you’re still not done eating?” She said in a innocent voice. She didn’t know I heard them talking so I didn’t mention it. “Hurry so you can play outside.”
“Okay, I’m almost done.”I said in the same voice she used on me.

I finished eating as my dad started packing food and my mom helped him. As I walked outside I couldn’t get that conversation out of my head.

I didn’t want to move. What did a burned down village have to do with us? Maybe if our uncle moved in with us him and my dad could fight the soldiers.

Interesting premise, man:) Grammar could use a little work, but it's still good. Well done:D
Wizard...I know you can do better than this. Take a segment and show before and after of things you'd change. Dive into it and re-write the whole thing if need be. I know it takes a long time to do a real critique, but you don't have to do it all at once either. ^_^
