he felt bored so he want to have some fresh air . he went outside the village for walk and to enjoy his moment after he finished his mission 
he went to final valley , and he was looking at madara and 1st hokage and the beautiful image of the waterfall . he thought and he said it to himself ( it's good place to relax )
but it's appear that there is no relax in ninja world so suddenly and without even note the mist appears and the area was covered by the mist
