Also Macho kindly provided proof that Naruto can float to travel distances too.

As per macho's link:

5.Floating can be applied to anything that moves away from a particular place while also being in a state of suspension.

= Naruto can move while floating.

6.Flying can be in high or low-speed, but floating indicates a slower pace. A good reason for this is the density of the fluid (with water or any kind as an environment) or lack of gravity (in the case of outer space).

= Since the desnity of air is very little and gravity is present, it means Naruto can float at high speeds.
