Clarification on the Boruto Anime

So, apparently the boruto anime is canon? It seems to take place before chapter 700. So, why do the kids look like the same age, when they appear in the boruto movie/manga? They're supposed to be younger in their academy days, right? They looked younger in 700.

Something like that hasn't been said yet, they just look younger in 700. Actually, IIRC there was a timeline that said 700 is a few years before the boruto movie.

since it's a cartoon, it's really hard to tell whether or not they look younger in chapter 700 in the comic than in the cartoon.

that's why people mistake it as being right after the movie.

Pretty sure they like rehashed everyone's designs bar the next generation minus Himawari because they probably thought it was a waste of time.

In terms of designs/outfits, I wouldn't go deep into it cause SP most likely are not consistent with shit like that.
