You misunderstood his post. You don't have to agree but it's not ignorant- he was referring to NB addiction only. His thread and his reply to your post had nothing to do with Suggestion(not in OP intention) Suggesting something meaningful to NB and its community not in his agenda at all but to tells people about how NB falls into stagnation right now from his own perspective.
And his post about his addiction mainly circulated inside NB(NB related matter) and not real life like you think here. He never said NB effect his normal life but how he became addicted to NB site where it hard for him to leave this site for good and how to cure it.
Your post here bring nothing new nor solving his problem bcus you failed to understand his problem or objective of this thread. Maybe bcus you're new here.
I tell you in simple way. I will not entertain any comment that sound like an ignorant.
Sam said that people don't say that they are addicted to NB openly because it was considered shameful. But it's just what he thought. We know NB can be addictive. Even one of the rep messages declares this status. Any forum or internet activity can be addictive.
At the same time it's also true that many people get tired of one place after some time. It varies from a few months to few years but this too is a common phenomena. Nothing surprising about it.
While it's correct to say that we do not have manga day peaks like before "stagnation" is not the correct word since there have been many changes since. There are loads of reason that we get fewer new users- one is that NB forums has been removed from the direct google searches due to copyright strike for hosting manga - since 2012. We also suffered a sister site debacle that hurt the member base. Registrations were also closed for almost a year before the manga ended. But two years after the manga ended, we are still here. NB is still up and the admins and staff is still working on new changes, that we can offer to members. Yes, it's a relatively slow process because it's a hobby not a main job of any of us. So people work on it when they are done with their RLjobs/school/life etc.
That said I perfectly understand the view of OP too. I have been there. Anyone who has been active on NB or any other forum long enough knows the feeling. You will get bored if you keep doing same things and talking with same people all the time for months and years. One has to balance it out. Even in staff you will notice the ones who have been here longest - also need breaks time to time so that we do not burn ourselves here.
