the story begins out with a man who is lost and apparently trapped in a world without hope, until he meets a girl, and then his life literally explodes.

This show is rather new to me, because it features not only a romantic undertone, but pieces of the supernatural, and even divine intercession. So to mix a romance with these elements is rather surprising.

Now let me tell you the good and the bad of this series.

the good: This show is amazing in every single feature is it incredible. character development, story, comedy. It is chalked full of nearly everything you need in a supernatural drama. The main elements in the show that i can't ignore is...
1. the pairing wars. , dear gosh I was stumbling over my feet trying to figure out who Tomoya would end up with, Tomoyo was my favorite and the one I wished Tomoya would end up with. but the logical one that made more sense was rei. Thanks to her and Tomoya's history and the way she would constantly rely on eachother and trust eachother. I was incredibly shocked when it was in fact Nagisa.
2. Drama, many examples pop into this show, from sibling rivalry to trying to reciprocate love to your father. It is very intense and very very very potent.
3. the Tear-jerking. This show will make you cry, and I am someone who never cries no matter how bad life gets, but dang this show will grab your heart and rip it out of your chest and pour vinegar on it. The series will make you love and care for all these characters to the point where when you see them get hurt you feel hurt as well.
4. the growing up scenes. I want everyone who is leaving high school to watch this. because it will startto show you all the trails that are associated with it. Seriously! just skip to After story and start watching around episode 7, and you will see alot of trial, that you may have to face.
5. Comedy. This show was crazy in terms of comedy, from a violin that can shatter windows, to obsessive reactions of a starfish, this show will make you laugh and laugh and laugh again. Does it make you laugh as much as it will make you cry? no, but it does enough.

The bad, ok there are some very slight issues with the show.
1. Nagisa's artwork, the artist drew her to look very childish, so much in fact that i often forgot that she was a high schooler, and mistook her for a child, It was rather weird to see her pregnant in the second half because it felt so wrong to see. It was like seeing a 12 year old girl with a baby in her stomach.
2. the ending. ok, I love the ending with all my soul it was happy and happy and happy, but from a neutral view it was rather annoying. It became so dramtic and tearstained at the end of the show, with Nagisa and her daughter dying, but then the world turns around and time is reset and Nagisa is brought back to life thanks to the actions of their daughter being a goddess in another world and she uses the power of all the people Nagisa and Tomoya touched thus allowing the "miracle" to happen. It partially makes sense however it did ruint he story, we should've seen Tomoya continue to struggle with the shock, not have everything be fixed. Mind you that is a neutral view and not mine. Just typing that made my heart rage.

As I said in the intro this show will make you cry! however it is an amazing show that will touch your heart. It is a drama and a very very powerful story, so much in fact that it makes Shinji's ramblings in evangelion look easy to manage.

In the end this show will make you all laugh and cry and leave you at the end of your seat, your face tearstained and surrounded by a mountain of tissue papers.

I give the show a 9.8/10 and it is possible the greatest anime i have ever watched. it is between this one and code geass. and i can't decide lol.
