*A snake of earth leaps out of the ground, and then opens its mouth and allows me to fall out, landing next to the person who's waiting for me. The snake then falls down into the ground, phasing easily into it.*

Now, I have no idea if traveling in the snake's mouth would be legal or not in a legit fight; I'm going to say no, but if you can come up with incredible logic as to why it would be "yes", just let me know.

It softens the earth its traveling through, since that's the only way it'd be able to merge into it ? Yeah, maybe not :yeah:.

Anyway, let's get this show on the road

Ummm... You know how when you cause a Great Stone Golem to rise from the ground, and there isn't a massive Golem-shaped crater in the ground where it came from? That principle placed in reverse is how it fuses; it's simply it coming out of the ground in reverse, leaving it as if it never existed, just as it seemed to come out of nowhere (as no crater is left as it's created).

So, tell me everything you know about the mechanics of this technique; how it works in your eyes, how it could be used (both obvious and creative), and how to defend against it if it's used against you. After the theory, we'll move onto actually using it.

This technique essentially creates a large serpent-like creature which repeatedly rises out from the ground before slamming back into it (merging in the process), doing this continuously for its entire duration.

Obvious uses: The snake could be used to carry the user towards the opponent, before going back underground and launching a surprise attack.

The snake could lie dormant until the user manages to get off a 2nd technique.

Creative use: This technique could also provide for a creative counter to Swamp of the Underworld. Creating the snake beneath me, using it to jump out of the ground before the swamp fully takes form, before using its tail to flick me high into the air (and towards my opponent). Whilst this happens, the snake will dive back into the swamp and quickly reach the bottom of it, merging back into the ground before surfacing beneath the opponent.

Alternatively it could surface directly behind them and crush them from above.

Actually, your second "creative" use is the whole purpose behind this technique's existence. O_O But anywho...

*I send my chakra into the ground and cause the large serpent to "leap" from the ground to your left, arcing to land straight on top of you.*

While you're defending, why don't you tell me some disadvantages to this technique? We've done uses and mechanics, now I want you to tell me why this technique isn't the "ultimate earth technique".

Like many earth techniques, if its created close to the opponent's location, it can be negated via an electrical current e.g. Chidori Nagashi.

One disadvantage specific to this technique, is the fact Doijutsu users and sensory shinobi will be capable of knowing the snake's location at all times, making this technique less versatile in use.

Alrighty. Now, I want you to describe how you'd perform it, describing how your chakra is being manipulated as you do so and etc. etc., and as you do that I want you to make any final comments/ask final questions about this technique. If you don't have anything to add, that should be your last post (unless you severely mess up the description).

Kakuzu begins focusing his doton chakra into the ground below to cause a large serpent-like creature made entirely of rock and stone to surface beneath his position, its tail emerging directly beneath its feet. The snake quickly flicks its tail upwards and forwards, sending me high into the air and in your direction. Whilst I'm airborne, the snake jumps on top of a tree (crushing it under its weight) and into the ground, effortlessly merging into it before resurfacing at another location.

(Doton: Daibingu Hebi) Earth Style: Diving Serpent

Type: Offence, Defence
Rank: A
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: The user focuses doton chakra into the ground beneath them, and creates a large snake out of the earth. Then snake then "leaps" out of the earth in an arc, causing a large ruckus, landing back into the earth, and fusing back into it (as if it were never there). However, sensors are still able to see the snake-shaped chakra signature moving under the ground. The snake can leap out of the ground as often as the user likes, and can be used to defend up to A-rank jutsu (B-rank lightning). If the snake lands on an object which is not a part of the earth (ie. a tree or an opponent), the earth snake will crush it in it's path back into the earth.
Note: ~Can only be used twice per battle
~Lasts three turns each time it's used (or until destroyed)
~Can only be taught by Sharingdork

Alright, that's good; and remember, the tree no longer exists (I love this technique because that's what it's meant to do! :D).
You have learned the technique; please update your CJ thread.
