Posting as Aureliana, Maiden of the Stars.
The hour of devastation had arrived. Aureliana looked on at the flaming debris as it cascaded toward Solanaceae with a hand to her chest. Oh, it was all too soon. If only they had more time. If only more survivors had accepted the city's offer. Now even her Generals, normally unbothered by human emotion, radiated panic. They and the closest of her court looked to her for answers but Aureliana could only open her mouth and let out the cry that had held for too long.
As the first of the gigantic lunar debris hit, the world shook and vibrated like a piece of fabric--no match for the might of gravity. The trees and rivers and mountains evaporated in liquid fire as each crater birthed a small sun. Then came the screaming. Not just from the thousands of innocent souls within her city, but from all over the world. Their cries of agony and confusion grated on her Divine soul and left it scarred.
Save them.
The goddess fell to her knees as a landmark-sized chunk of moon pierced her Domain and shattered one of the spires over Solanaceae, sending chunks of molten debris down onto hundreds below. It was the end for all things... even herself. Aureliana lifted a hand and mentally commanded her Generals, the Stratigos, to help as many as they could or die trying. As the emissaries of the Realm of Wisdom darted into the city, Aureliana shakily rose to one leg and looked out at a ruined horizon.
"No, no, no..." she said, tears streaming down her face in golden streaks. "They haven't even had a chance to live. I haven't had..." the words caught in her throat and then soon turned to sobbing.
The world churned and burned. A monumental earthquake had begun to shake the entire continent and even the Kaizoku Sea to the east, spawning mile-high waves that went on to obliterate the coastlines. The sky was a stifling combination of blackened smoke and the red of fire as the celestial bombardment continued. All of this on top of the many souls perishing in instants-- before they could even look up.
Save them.
Aureliana reached into her chest, parting the skin there with little effort, and grasped her own Divine Spark as it lay there, pulsing like a heart. "Let there be no more pain..." she said and began drawing on every ounce of her power from across all realities... all timelines that have and will ever exist. Every single iteration of her, the Maiden of Stars, ripped from their places in causality and summoned to the present, at the end of the world. "No more sorrow..." Aureliana continued as her form glowed with the brilliance of a thousand suns. Bands of light arced from her body like solar flares, or tentacles reaching out for something to hold.
With the power of her Divine Spark fully realized, the goddess' physical body quickly burned away in her own brilliance to reveal her true form: a luminous creature made of the purest light, who's head parted the clouds above Chungsu and who's many arms reached both Tobusekai and the Great Wind Desert at the same time. "And no. More. Gods." Her words boomed from the sky itself, shaking the skulls of who bore witness.
The killing blow fell directly on the Matoi Drylands in the north and triggered a crater so massive that it immediately consumed the Fire and Wind countries. As the destruction spread toward what was left of Solanaceae, Aureliana commanded all of the souls of Earth to come to her where she held them in her bosom, a pocket dimension, as the world they had all known shattered into a million pieces to cool and drift in the Void.
Then her wish took effect. With her gigantic, luminous body, the goddess folded inward to her own pocket dimension in a manner that could only be described as 'holy' as she tore down her own ego, the memory of Aureliana, and used it to fashion the physical realm. Then she broke apart her true form into a million, million motes of light that formed the spiritual realm. The two opposites unite the instant they are made, and a new universe explodes into being.
See you guys tomorrow when the new NW Arc, a loose continuation of the final events of Arc X, begins!
