As he says this, Zero fuses his chakra into the ground and summons a Layer of rat flesh over the surface of the battlefield. He wills the Flesh to form soikes that rise up to inpale you from all sides. Whils your busy with that, Zero bites his thumb and slams it to the floor, summoning a gint ninja rat. The rat rushes towards Palpatine and performs a handseal to summon four rat clones.
One of the rats retreats backwards to stand beside Zero, while the other four bear down on him. One flanks his left while another flanks his right and a peice of rat flesh forms a pillar that quickly shoots upwards, launching one of the rats in the center into the air. The ninja rat to Palpatine's right throws his katana towards him with incredible strength and great speed, while the one on his left and the one in the middle closes the distance and attacks him. The one in the air spins in order to add more force to his vertical downward slash.
As all this is taking place Zero observes how Palpatine reacts to this attack, but he makes sure he's prepare for a counter attack

Palpatine looks on with a smirk on his face as the young boy before him speaks. Suddenly the ground turns into something like flesh. Suddenly he hears them morphing into something from all sides. Without hesitation he jumps off of both of his feet and quickly blows a intense stream of wind from his mouth which allows him to spin rapidly over the spikes before he lands onto the ground just a few feet to the left of the far left spike.
(Fūton: Kaze Ogawa no Jutsu) - Wind Release: Wind Stream Technique
Just as he evades the spikes Palpatine looks up to see all of the 5 Giant rats. 4 of which are running towards him. He preforms one handseal and causes all the rats along with Zero to be trapped into a genjustu where they see nothing but darkness. This causes the rats to be unable to see where Palpatine is. Palpatine swiftly throws a total of 8 paper bomb wrapped kunai at each of the 4 rats heads that were heading towards him. 2 to each, all of which are targeted at the respective rats head. Palpatine then walks forward towards Zero. Walking diagonally avoiding the dead rats.
( Kokuangyo no Jutsu ) - Bringer-of-Darkness Technique

Zero is able to deduce that he's in a genjutsu since he was able to see you a moment before and now he could not, and he knows that a Ninjutsu wasn't used. This leaves only one possibility: A Genjutsu is causing him to not see anythin.
Zero knows that a ninja rat is standing by his side so he simply reaches out and holds it's hand and the channel chakra into each other and this breaks the genjutsu over them both. Now able to see Zero notices the paper bombs bearing down on the rats and summos a wall of rat flesh that protects them. Each of the rats, knowing that they are in a genjutsu due to information from the clone beside zero, each rat bites their thumb and this breaks the Jutsu. Because of their sense of smell, the rats were able to follow Palpatine's moves even while they couldn't see.
Zero immidiately begins his counter attack by creating several large electrical balls of energy that spread out around him and causes electrical currents of lightning to spreads out ovar the area and shocks you. The ninja rats then close in all around you and slash at you. The first goes for your head, the second your torso, the third your legs, while the fourth jumps up and bears down on you from above.
As all this is taking place, Zero creates multiple large dragon-shaped fireballs at you, and they also attack you from your left, right, and front. One of the fire balls however, goes skyward, perpendicular to his position. As the fire balls now make their way towards you, Zero unsheathes DV and fires off three shock waves at you that move with incredible speed, and then re sheathes then in one fluent motion. The shock waves combine with fire draon heads and creates a super fast, sharpand hot combo.
(Note that i can just use the rat flesh surface to protect the rats incase of anything

You gotta go into detail how you figured out it was a genjustu. And clones only give information to other clones and to the original person once they disperse. Oh, and how big are those rats ?

Palpatine looks on as the Rats along with Zero break free of the gen. Palpatine stand still and waits until the barrage of attacks nears him. When they get just outside a few feet, Palpatine falls into the ground backwards instantly appearing out of the ground feet behind Zero and the Rat standing next to him. The rats would see Palpatine travel through the ground, but wouldn't be able to smell him until he reappears. The very moment Palpatine appears behind Zero he turns around to face Zero and the clone and thanks to his lightning specialty he is quickly able to generate a electrical energy in his palm which he whips around striking both the rat and Zero in the back shocking them harshly to the point of serious damage.

Zero or the rats are not able to smell Palpatine while underground, but when you resurface a few feet behind them, the rat senses him immidiately. He grabs Zero and throws him into the air but is destroyed by your lightning attack. Zero, still in the air, raises his hand to the now thunderous sky. A bright flash occurs and the battlefield is bathed in white light. When the smoke settles, Zero looks to where Palpatine was standing and sees nothing but charred remains.
Zero lands safely on the no dissolving rat flesh, still looking at where Palpatine's remains are.
