Name: Sylas Sand Age: 17 Nobility: Bastard Child Title: N/A |
Appearance Information |

![]() A lean, athletic man, six feet three inches tall, with piercing eyes that mix his mother’s purple & father's green to create a distinct teal. Sharp cheekbones and lustrous silver hair that spills down to his shoulder frame his face: softened by smooth, porcelain skin & subtle violet shading around the eyes. His attire's a charcoal leather cuirass with muted violet panels, trimmed pauldrons, layered tassets, dark trousers, wrapped greaves, and knee-high leather boots. Across his back rests his Valyrian blade, Nevermore. Personality: Graceful by nature, he is calm and composed, carrying himself with the quiet authority borne of discipline and purpose. He's patient and deliberate, speaking with measured certainty & allows silence to carry as much weight as his words. Though capable of courtesy and warmth, an underlying arrogance informs his stoic charm. Beneath it lies a fierce conviction, shaped by resentment toward his house’s decline and tempered by a ruthless pragmatism that prizes strength and sacrifice. The circumstances of his birth have made him fiercely loyal and his devotion can veer toward possessiveness. As with all sons of Dorne, he has little patience for cowardice or compromise, and dismisses those he considers foolish. He neither seeks recognition through bloodshed nor recoils from it; he has long accepted that his path will end in blood and death. |
Historical Information |

Born in Starfall, he's the bastard son of a knight and a woman of obscure origin from Essos. His mother died bringing him into the world, leaving behind a child whose existence was tolerated. His father acknowledged him in private and ensured he was fed, clothed, and educated, but never afforded him the privileges of legitimate kin. Thus his childhood unfolded at the margins of House Dayne, close enough to observe its splendor while remaining conscious of the distance between himself and those entitled to inherit it. He developed an early reserve, tempered by an acute awareness of how swiftly affection could become indifference. He possessed little interest in the accomplishments expected of a young nobleman. He preferred the the riverbanks, and the rugged country around Starfall, where solitude offered freedoms unavailable within the castle. He understood the land intimately, learning its paths and ravines to uncover hidden paths. He was equally adept at climbing the cliffs, moving across precarious ledges with a confidence that unsettled those who witnessed it. By eleven, he had become an accomplished archer, capable of shooting from horseback and judging distance with unusual precision. The household knights admired his discipline, though some regarded his talents as curiosities rather than virtues. At fourteen, his abilities acquired practical value. During a hunt, he detected an ambush & recognizing the danger, alerted the adults to allowing the party to avoid an attack and later destroy those responsible. For this father rewarded him with a finely crafted Valyrian steel, the hallmark of House Dayne. The gesture carried more significance than its material worth, though it could not erase the distinction between son and bastard. By sixteen, he had a reputation for keen senses, quiet competence & swordplay. He remained excluded from succession, yet his usefulness would earn him something far greater: respect. |
