I don't see any contradiction in this chapter. It was never stated there wan't a third sibling, so it was just an unknown information to us.
And the fact he was never mentioned up to this point is understandable. He died so young he is just not relevant to the history of shinobi world and most people are not confortable to occasionaly comment about their younger brother that died too early. In fact, Hashirama is only bringing him into discussion because he is relevant to Sasuke's question, his death was an impact on his life that most likely molded a lot of his moral development.
