Chapter 9
A small brown rabbit emerged from the bushes within a light forest. It lifted its nose in the air, smelling the surrounding air. Suddenly, the small creature’s left ear twitch which was followed by a swift shadow moving above and past the small rabbit.
Hashirama darted on the treetops in the forests of the Land of Fire. The Konoha shinobi traveled in a rushed pace, his facial expression explained his focus and seriousness.
*It’s almost time now…* The shinobi thought to himself. Hashirama came to a narrow river between the trees of the forest and came down from the tree tops. He placed his hands in the water, splashing is face. *Yamato-sensei entrusted this task to me, I cannot fail.*
Hashirama rose from the river, shaking his hands before suddenly pausing for a brief moment. He broke his pause and stretched his hands outwards and then above his head. He slapped his face with both hands, “Alright!” He recommenced his journey through the forest, heading back up into the trees.
A tree that overlooked the river dropped a single leaf just after Hashirama ascended. The leaf fell slowly in the wind, making its way to the flowing river. The leaf landed softly on the river just as a sudden gust of wind blew, causing several other leaves to blow off the tree and a quick shadow passed over the river.
Young Gabriel tailed Hashirama from a distance. *He’s a shinobi from Konoha…* Gabriel thought to himself. He moved his right hand into his back pocket where his scroll was. *This scroll is different than the other one. It requires me to drain the chakra of others and actually convert it into Meiton chakra. I suppose this is to get me use to doing so for the absorption abilities of the clan…but it has to be substantial amount for me to read anything. Draining the chakras of random thugs and people isn’t enough to allow me to fully access the contents of the thread…this shinobi though,*
Gabriel paused in his though as he watched closely to Hashirama’s backside. *If I can lure him into my trap I can take all the chakra I need.*
The two headed deeper and deeper into the forest until a small light began to emanate from a clearing up ahead, leading to a wide open plane. Gabriel’s eyes widened as he prepared himself to take Hashirama. A few meters ahead of Hashirama were four camouflaged explosive tags placed in a square formation. Gabriel smiled and took out a kunai.
“Now then…” Gabriel said softly, as he threw his kunai to his right. Gabriel’s kunai deflected an incoming projectile that had an explosive tag placed on it. Gabriel dropped to the ground and Hashirama appeared from behind him with another kunai, swinging down on him. Gabriel caught Hashirama’s wrist just before the blade came to his skull.
“So you saw through my illusion huh?” Hashirama smiled at the young boy.
“Illusionary clones, though harder to figure out when people get skilled at the technique, there are still ways to tell…like the lack of wind displacement from your body.” Gabriel explained. The clone that ran ahead of them vanished.
“It’s rare to see somebody so young genjutsu savvy. You obviously wanted me to get close to you for some reason though.” Hashirama deduced.
“Precisely,” Gabriel’s hand began to glow blue and he quickly began to siphon out Hashirama’s chakra. “I made it a president to get close enough to you so you’d notice me and try to counter; you fell right into my trap.”
Hashirama sighed, “Sorry but…” Gabriel suddenly fell unconscious from a strike to the back of his neck from the real Hashirama. The image before Gabriel was yet another illusion. “I think I spotted you sooner than you had hoped. You probably didn’t notice my first illusion layered on top when I made that hand seal at the river.” Hashirama picked up the boy and slung him over his shoulder and he continued to walk into the clearing. “Though I’m still impressed at your level with genjutsu at such a young age, it’s truly something to pay attention too.”

The buzzer at the front desk in Kirigakure’s hospital kept flashing back and forth. The nurse at the front desk merely sighed and placed her hand on her aching head.
“Watch the station please,” The nurse addressed another sitting behind the booth, “I’ll be back…again.”
“No problem,” The other nurse said with a uneasy smile.
As the nurse left from behind the station, the buzzer kept ringing, coming from one room. The nurse headed down the long hallway and she came to a door on the left side, some, three quarters of the way down the hall. She stood there for a brief moment and sighed before she entered. She put on a fake smile to hide her irritation…and poorly at that.
“Yes, Isabella-sama?” The nurse said, “What do you need now?”
“How much longer do I have to stay in this hellhole. I prefer to put people in here not the other way around. It’s rather annoying.”
“The doctors said you’d need to stay for about another two to three weeks for the bones to completely heal. Just be patient.”
“Was that supposed to be a joke?” Isabella glared.
*Yes* “No of course not Isabella-sama. It’s not as bad if you don’t think about it so much. I bet the time will fly by quicker than you know it.” The nurse said as she inched the door closed subtly. She hadn’t even entered her full body in the room.
“Whatever, you can leave no—” The nurse slammed the door before Isabella could even finish her sentence.
“Well she was in a hurry to get out,” A woman’s voice said. Isabella turned to her window to find Masuyo entering once again, “Ya-hoo!” The cheerful red head sang.
“They’re probably annoyed at me, I’ve been ringing this buzzer thing all day. Before it was just because pressing the button was the only entertaining thing to do but then they said I couldn’t ring it without needing something so every time I’d start again after that I’d just make something up for them to go do. Even tried to get one of them to file the backed up paperwork I left in Orochimaru’s office.”
“Sounds fun,” Masuyo laughed, “Anyway, I got off of work early today so I figured I’d come and give you some more company today.”
“Cool…say I have a favor to ask of you. Would you mind picking me up a few things from my place?”
“Uhh, sure, why not? What exactly am I getting?”
“There’s a cabinet in my washroom with a few bottles of perfume, just bring me those.”
“Perfume? Seems kind of weird, are you trying to seduce one of the medics or something? I don’t really see why you’d want perfume while in the hospital.”
“Oh don’t you worry about what it’s for just yet.”
“If you say so, I’ll be back in a little bit.” Masuyo was quickly engulfed in a cloud of insects which dispersed almost as quickly as they appeared and Masuyo was gone. Isabella smiled and leaned back, upright in her hospital bed and began ringing the buzzer again.

Gabriel awoke as the sun was setting over in the Land of Fire. He was tied and bound to a tree as he regained consciousness. His eyes shifted for a moment and then he lifted his head, looking at the back of Hashirama.
“So you’re awake now,” Hashirama said, without looking at the young shinobi. “Mind telling me what a shinobi from Kiri is doing all the way in the Fire Country?”
“I’m on a mission, I’m not at liberty to say anything else,” Gabriel stated.
“Well, judging from your intentions of trying to drain my chakra, I suspect it’s not a very pleasant reason. Given the state of peace the Five Nations are in and the…delicate situation of the Ninja World at this current time, I’d hate to think the Land of Water and Kiri were up to something devious against Konoha.” Hashirama shifted his head back slightly, showing the seriousness in his eyes after his casual words.
“I’ll attest that my mission is in no way connected to Konohagakure or the Land of Fire. You, as an individual were merely a component…one that I couldn’t handle apparently.”
“What is your name?”
“Gabriel.”
“Well Gabriel, what I’m getting from you about your mission is that you require the chakra of others, which is why you tried to drain mine earlier. As another shinobi I can respect your secrecy in your task and your attempt to complete it so I won’t hinder you after this point. The only exception is, if I catch you again trying to use another member of my village understood?”
“You talk down to me like common child. Unfortunately I can’t keep such a promise. I have to complete my mission at any cost. Release me here and I’ll continue with what I was doing. Report me if you’d like but I can almost assure my village will disown me if need be to prevent an unwanted conflict.”
“Humm, well if that’s the case, letting you free will only jeopardize my comrades so I guess I’ll just have to kill you then!” Hashirama exclaimed, turning quickly as he rushed towards Gabriel with a knife. The tanned shinobi stopped short at Gabriel’s neck looking at the soulless eyes of the 9 year old. He sighed and lowered his head and retracted his kunai, “What’s with kids these days, not even flinch in the face of death.” Hashirama turned away from Gabriel and began walking. He stopped and lifted his head up and looked into the sky with a rather ditzy stare “Well maybe it’s just with Kiri, you guys are kinda fond of that killing thing. Ya know with the whole ‘Bloody Mist Village’ deal.”
“What is your name?” Gabriel interrupts Hashirama’s rant.
“Oh, my apologies. I’m Hashirama Senju of Konoha. Even if this is against my better judgment, I’ll let you go, however I’m going to be keeping an eye on you until you leave the confines of the country. Don’t want any mishaps.” Hashirama launched a kunai towards Gabriel and it cut the rope that bound him in. “Well good luck on your mission, Gabriel of Kirigakure.”
“Wait,” Gabriel called to Hashirama before ran off. “Your genjutsu technique.”
“My genjutsu technique?”
“When you knocked me out, before I had lost consciousness I saw the second illusion fade away. You layered a second illusion onto your first one without me knowing, how did you do that?”
“Err, that’s a little difficult to explain in a sentence or two.”
Gabriel sat down crossing his legs, “I have time and considering before I found you, you were just running around in circles, I doubt you have anything better to do.”
Hashirama lowered his head, feeling the truth and weight of Gabriel’s words, “You know that was kinda harsh.”
“Sorry…”
“Anyway, why would I tell you about my technique? Shinobi don’t reveal their secrets to just anybody.”
“That’s true…” As Gabriel said this he didn’t move from his position and silence ensued between the two. Gabriel just continued to stare at Hashirama while Hashirama did the same but in ‘creeped out’ sort of way.
Hashirama plopped to the ground, “Alright guess I could tell you a little bit…” *What’s the harm, not like I’m making him my student or anything.*
To Be Continued…

Author's Note: Decided chapters 8 and 9 would be a double release this week around. Again, it's more of the same concerning Liliana and Melizzle. The second part is about me again <3 only this time it deals with my relationship with my genjutsu teacher Scorps. Anybody who knows me in the RP community knows of my obsession with genjutsu...well Scorps is partially to blame for that. Though I had already agreed to be a genjutsu fanatic before hand, it was Scorps' guidance with genjutsu that took me as far as I did. Literally everything genjutsu aside from customs, has been taught to me by Scorps. RPers can attest to this: Regular genjutsu, NB genjutsu (even made me the Shishou), his customs, and even his CFS Lazy Fist >_>. So this was a little bit of a shout out to him. Scorps and Lili are...basically my personal teachers. Even though I'm a slave senpai for one of them and I'm not officially the personal student of the other. Lol Anyway. This is the last filler chapter for a little bit. Next Chapter gets into our next RP event which I'm sure will spark some memories for a few of the older RPers from early 2012. Hope you enjoy this chapter as well.
