I’ve always wondered…am I really awake…or is this all just a dream…for years I have always had this strange feeling…for years I have been confused whether to be excited about this feeling….or scared…what a strange feeling…

“Father!” yelled a girl. “We must help this boy! He’s unconscious, he’s covered in blood, and his body looks a bit damaged!”

Who is that…that voice…it’s a girl’s voice…a girl..?

“Do not worry Mishu,” said the father. “I’ll use the Healing Arts…”
Is that a guy’s voice..?

“But-but you can’t! That’s forbidden! They might see it!”

“If you keep yelling they might hear you, so please be quiet...I must use this…or he might not make it...Shimakra Izagetsu.”

A great green light shined. That light…its green…why..?

The boy started coughing very hard, and then the coughs weakened. “What-what’s going on? Where am I?”

“He woke up!” laughed Mishu putting her hands over her mouth. “Father! You did it!”

“Be quiet Mishu. They might hear you.”

The boy looked around confused. “What-what’s going on!” he exclaimed. Mishu covered his mouth with her hands. “Be quiet! Didn’t you hear my father telling me to?”

They boy took her hand off his mouth. “Please tell me first where I am!” He was going to yell, but a great jolt of pain went through his body. He started limping to the floor. His head hurt, and his body felt very sore.

“Please boy. Calm down,” said the father by the boy’s side on one knee.
The boy looked at him, and back at the floor. His eyes started closing, and he fell on the floor asleep……..

He woke up, and realized rope was wrapped around him. “What! What’s the rope for!”

“He’s awake again,” said Mishu who looked like she was sleeping as well.
The father came out of the other room, and walked over to the boy. The boy didn’t notice how they look like before, and now he was having a clear view of them.

The father was about in his middle forties. He wore brown pants, a tan shirt, boots, and also wore a black belt. He was bald, but had a big brown beard. He had squinted eyes. His daughter, or Mishu, had long black hair. She was about his age. She had green eyes, pale skin, and pink highlights. She wore black shoes, black shorts, a pink shirt with no sleeves, and fingerless gloves. They were in a poorly made house that looked more like a shack.

The house had only four rooms that were small. The ground was the earth, and the roof was made of a different kind of bamboo. It was raining strongly outside. He was surprised the roof wasn’t leaking. He heard lighting, and thunder. He hoped this house wouldn’t get hit, because it would burst into flames.

“I’m sorry about the rope. I feared you would have caused more commotion, so I had to keep you restrained. Please do not yell. It’s not bad enough that the Shadows already gave me a strike. If they heard you they would have me put away for breaking the After Hour Silence Law,” said the father. He had a knife in my hand. He went on one knee, and cut the rope.

The boy noticed a mirror, and saw himself. He wanted to make sure he wasn’t in somebody else’s body. He once watched a movie like that.
He wore a black hooded long-sleeved sweatshirt, gray pants, black sneakers, and fingerless gloves. He had hazel eyes, long dark brown hair, and pale skin. He was skinny, about 5’6”, and wore eyeliner plus eye shadow. I still look the same, that’s good. Then he noticed he had cuts on his face, and a scar. What the heck…happened to me..?

He cleared his throat and asked, “Where am I? Also call me Scar; I can’t remember my name, so just call me that.”

“Okay, anyway, you are in the Village of Lakes, or we call it Mother Lake because many lakes start from the center of our village. There is an underground cave filled with groundwater there. The lakes start from a pond that comes from this cave, and…”

“Father, he wants to know where he is, not the geographical structure of it.”
“Mother Lake? I never heard of this place before. Do you know how far Hiroshima is from here?”

“Hiroshima?” asked the father.

“Yeah, Hiroshima, the city in Japan?”

Mishu and her father looked at each other. Mishu then turned her face to the boy and asked, “What’s Japan?”

The boy was surprised and answered, “Japan is a country.”

The father looked at his daughter. The daughter nodded, and pulled out a scroll. The scroll was made of steel that shined in the light. They had made a little fire. The scroll opened, but there wasn’t any paper. A holographic screen of some sort appeared.

She typed on a holographic keyboard that appeared. “Hiro…shima…Ja…pan…” she muttered typing the location the teenager had told them about.
She got done typing. It said loading on the screen, then in a split second, data, and a picture of a city appeared. The boy walked over to her, and looked at the screen over her shoulder. “What is this place?” he asked. Mishu answered him. “It’s Hiroshima, Japan.”

The boy became surprised. The Hiroshima he knew was ruins in the picture. It looked completely destroyed. The ruins were made up of futuristic buildings that laid upon each other. He walked back shocked. “But-but I don’t understand. What happened?”

Mishu started reading the data. The data was written in a very different kind of language. “Hiroshima, Japan. All data of it was destroyed. It was a prosperous thriving city that advanced greatly in technology and also created the Yuhikana language. Unfortunately at the start of The Endless War in the year 1456, the city was completely destroyed, and abandoned.”
She closed the scroll, and put it away in her purse. The boy looked around frantically. “Did you say the year 1456?”

“Yes.”

“I’m from the year 2012!”

“Wh-what?” asked Mishu surprised. She and her father were surprised about this.

“What is the last thing you remember,” asked the father.

The boy looked through his mind, but it was blank. All he knew was that he was from Hiroshima, Japan, and he remembered how the city looked like. Then he remembered something. “I remember…I remember seeing a great light coming down from nowhere…then, you woke me up with this green light.”
“So then…it must be true,” said the father.

Mishu looked at him understanding what he meant. “Father, you don’t mean.”
“Yes I do,” said the father. “I am surprised by this greatly, and also deeply happy.”

The teen was confused of what Mishu and her father was talking about.
Mishu looked at her father, then at the boy. The father cleared his throat and said, “You performed…the Legendary Time Traveling Arts.”

“The Legendary Time Traveling Arts?”

“Well it’s more mythical then legendary,” said the father. “You time traveled here from the last year of the 1st Life of Earth. You are now in the year 1990 of the 3rd Life of Earth. That is the reason why Mishu said 1456. After the 1st Life ended, the survivors, our ancestors started the years over again from 1.”

“What happened in 2012?” asked the boy.

The father answered, “They say great powerful natural disasters happened. Nobody could do anything. Many died while many survived. The ones who survived started life over again. In the first decade of new life great wars over land, supplies, and more happened. Then something happened that would change the world. Many didn’t believe in magic or powers till he came.”

“Who?” asked the boy.

“The Great One…”

A loud alarm rang throughout Mother Lake. “Oh no,” said the father. “They are going to check the houses now. I’m not going to be able to pay for our rent. I didn’t make much money. I am sorry Mishu. I think I have to do it.”

“No!” yelled Mishu. “You can’t join the Shadows!”

“I’ll have to,” said the father. “It is the only way to protect the boy and you. That will be the only way to pay my rent.”

The boy became more confused, and then they heard knocking on the door.
“Let us in! Its rent time!” yelled a deep voiced man knocking on the door very loudly now.

“Uzaya Tramuuika, rent has gone up. 400 Drekuji,” said the man that led his group there.

“I-I do not have…400 Drekuji…”

“What? Leave then you trash.”

“Please,” Uzaya pleaded. “I’ll do something for you people.”

“What you peasant?’

“I will join the Shadows for you.”

They all laughed. “Ha-ha, you, old man? Fine then, Darjia Metakru.”
A portal made of darkness appeared behind Uzaya, and shadows pulled him in. “W-what!”

“Father!” yelled Mishu. Uzaya disappeared.

“Stay there peasant!” laughed the man. Mishu ran at him, and he grabbed her by the arm. He threw her on the ground.

“Mishu!” yelled Scar. He hesitated for a minute not knowing what to do. Then a great flash happened. A giant blade with a golden handle appeared in his hand. It said Awakening in kanji on the left side: 目覚め.

“What is that blade!” yelled the man.

Mishu saw what Scar held in his hand. “Scar! Be careful!”
Scar felt great power go through his body, and he attacked the men. They pulled out their blades, and fought Scar. Scar couldn’t believe how powerful he was. He dodged attacks, but then one of the men kicked him down to the ground. Scar got back up, and the blade acted on its own. What is this power!

The blade turned red, and a great ball of fire came at the men. They dodged it, and fled. The fire burned through the wall, but the rain fought against it.
“We got to leave Scar!” yelled Mishu who was standing up. She hold her arm, as it was still in pain.

Scar ran to Mishu, and then his body acted on its own. It grabbed her hand, and then everything turned dark.

So…my name is Scar…what a cool name…Scar imagined himself floating in midair surrounded by blue aura. He could feel the wind, and smell the sea.
Mishu and Uzuya…thank you both…Uzuya…I will find you!

“Scar wake up!”

What?

Scar woke up. He saw Mishu about six feet away. They were on a beach. The sun shined brightly, and you could hear the roaring of the waves. He saw the blade that saved them. It laid on the sand. He looked up, and saw the sky was clear. He turned around to see giant rocks, and a forest.

“Where are we?” he asked himself.

“You are at the Island of Doku.”

“What!” yelled Scar. He got up. “Umm…”

A guy about two years older than Scar held a blade to Scar’s neck. Ten other people were there as well on the beach, and coming out of the forest. The guy then said, “You are arrested.”

*Hello this is the first chapter of Chron. I made this part of the story months ago, and I just remembered it. I know the grammer's probably not that good. I hope someone reads this, and likes it. When I was looking at this, it gave me an idea to continue it, so hopefully and maybe I will.
