Christopher Reeves/Superman/Henry Cavill/Man of steel dilemma

The pre-screening of the movie has been shown. And the complain about Man of Steel is "too much action". Which is pretty shocking because this is a SUPERMAN movie. People were expecting a new superman and they got it.. yet they still choose to compare it to Christopher Reeve's Superman.


Am I the only one who believe Christopher Reeve Superman has been hyped to much? I just watched all the movies for it yesterday... and THEY ARE HORRIBLE. A total downgrade of what Superman is.

I'm sorry but if Superman can't deliver action then he isn't superman. Avengers was suppose to be a time movie of superheroes.. but we barely got any action.. It was all talk and barely 20 mins of action. Not to mention they had a whole freaking alien invasion which was dealt within 15 minutes. . How is that even possible?

Yet those same critics want to complain about Man of steel.. a movie that NEEEDS MORE ACTION because of its main character.. has too much action.



So with that said I want your thoughts on this.

Do you like the old Superman movies? or are you like me who believes they were the corniest superhero movies made?

Was Henry a good choice for Superman?

Does Man of steel deserve good amount of action?

Okay, people are going to have to stop comparing EVERY Superman to Christopher Reeves! The movie is outdated and is really overhyped and overrated.

This is a Superman movie. There should be a fair bit of action sequences HIGHLIGHTING all of his freakin' abilities! I mean, god! People just can't stop complaining!

I havent seen the movie yet , but yeah you are right its not with superman but with batman as well , but Reeves superman is overrated & its a new era & fans expect intensity & more action ...probably the ones saying this crap are the Stupid old critics that are so out of date with today .........

oh man, don't even mention Batman. X_X. Batman was sooo horrible in combat lol. And yea it mostly is those old era critics.

We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations, the new needs friends......" ..... some people are there just to criticize and has to make noise continuously least they fade into the shadows, just like Hunger Games 'J Law was too fat' controversy ..... My motto is dont decide upon the quality of a movie unless u see it first.... Also yes I think super hero movies need a bit of action, Avengers and Iron man are good but I miss the old fashioned plain action theme of say the First Blood or enter the Dragon and would be glad if I am offered the old taste with new twist. Also Christopher Reeve's superman was great according to those times.... but honestly its 2013, there can be and will be better Superman movies, especially if Nolan is directing it.


I knew this movie was gonna be epic when I saw the costume designer allowed superman to finally wear his underwear inside his pants......

The problem with your post is.. that Nolan isn't the one directing the Superman movies. Its Zack Snyder. Honestly Nolan couldn't pull of Man of steel by himself even if he was the director. Zack is much better for someone like Superman, and not to mention the costume design. Nolan had a horrible costume for batman and Bane...

I thought there was a lot of action scenes, like young clark saving people, the oil rig thing, jor-el fighting scene, 2nd part was all action.
