Well,,, I dunno . I heard there were two versions about the creation of Earth, one described in the Latin Bible and the other described in the Greek Bible

well seeing as i havn't heard the universe complain about something happens like a woman does...i kid i kid :p

its just symbolism, like most of the old testament. modern days Christians follow the teachings of the new testament and look at the old testament as stories to reflect upon.

Ok. If God created the universe from nothing, why did he need a rib from Adam to create Eve???
Is a woman really that much harder to make than a friggin universe????
xd
Just out of curiosity...

Well, you will find many different answers amongst Christians.

Some (not myself) believe the Bible to be the infallible word of God (for some reason or another) - and if that's what it said happened, then that's exactly what happened. Reasoning on our part is not necessary (and sometimes not welcome).

Others think the creation story is a metaphor or 'symbolic' story of the intent behind creation (not necessarily an accounting of the process).

I'm honestly not quite sure how to take it. The creation story (and many early Jewish texts) share their roots with legends told by the ancient Sumerians (with a similar theme found among that region). I believe that these legends are a passed down verbal account of some real event. Exactly where the truth in it is is almost pointless to speculate on at this point.

It is interesting, however, that in these early stories, "God" is an identifiable and physical presence among people. Call me crazy, even stupid - but I think that does have interesting implications for the idea that "God" was some technologically advanced species... perhaps terrestrial in origin - perhaps not.

So, there goes crazy uncle aim talking about aliens. Be sure to spike my soda with the meds again.
