I remember a forum I posted at before claiming things like Chouji can effortlessly stomp on Nagato and shit like that. Although not related, I can still say with confidence IMO Chouji's overrated and not the other way around lol.
He's not the strongest of the 12 after Naruto and Sasuke: Shino, Kiba, Lee, Neji, Sakura, all would beat him.
I'll just go down the list, so 1st Shino. Firstly, Shino's known for bunshin feints and can get out of range. Chouji's no mountain buster and can't destroy everything in the surrounding area infinitely until the real Shino dies. His bugs will surround Chouji and suck his chakra. Once he becomes skinny, he becomes extremely weak and even exhausted, he has far from infinite chakra so once he expands or enters butterfly mode it's over. At regular size, Bug Globe would drain him of all his chakra, and Shino's insect clone will just separate if Chouji hits and not be able to kill him because of Bunshin feint.
Kiba I find actually pretty obvious. Soutoro dented a rashomon gate and this was 2 years ago, it literally tore Sakon/Ukon apart and it spins so fast it literally cuts the air around it. It's around Chouji's size, it drills right through him and he dies. Plus, when they survive the initial butterfly onslaught assuming Chouji isn't dead, it's a walk in the park from there. Kiba's far too fast for Chouji to ever hit him and any Gatsuga ever will tear through Chouji. Hell I'm not sure he would get the time to expand, Kiba hits Chouji initially and he crashes towards the ground, they're not gonna give him time to get up.
Rock Lee, ohoho. Well this guy right here, is my main man. He enters the gates and completely and utterly blitzes the **** out of Chouji. He can try reacting or processing a thought or expanding or some crap like that.. but it's useless! Head kicked off @ 300km/h! He gona do nuthin, he gunna die.
Neji's much faster than Chouji and Chouji can't really hurt him. Neji can avoid being hit by chouji ,and akin to Kiba he will just hit him before he ever thinks about expanding. His chakra points would be destroyed and he couldn't perform jutsu, he'd be continuously beat on by Neji until he dies. And Neji can easily outlast him if he got the chance to expand. 64 hit jyuuken blasted Kidomaru through a tree and Neji was drilled through his body and made gigantic holes in 2 places, Chouji dies.
Sakura's physical strength still trumps Chouji's. Let's be honest, he can't be touches once by Sakura or he dies, and she won't be hit by him any time soon being a medical nin. If he expands he would just become a much bigger target, she'd break his legs in an instant and then jump and bust his face in. She can also easily outlast him, and if he's non expanded, he's also susceptible to sleep bombs. Oh yeah and the same thing with Neji and Kiba stands here too: she makes a huge earthquake on the ground so Chouji will lose balance and he will be put on the defensive as Sakura barrages him, he won't have time to do anything.
I don't know who else in the Konoha 11 that I'm forgetting that could win, but one scenario I particularly want to commentate over:
Chouji destroys Shikamaru with literally 0 difficulty, Shika tries to bind him, Chouji expands and proceeds as if nothing happens. He uses butterfly mode and smashes his hand into the ground and crushes Shika into a pile of mush.
Yeahhh..the satisfying defeat of my least favorite character.
Oh yeah and in summary Chouji is pretty powerful yeah but most of the Konoha 11 are the ones that are actually underrated. They're pretty strong too..either that or I guess Chouji just isn't what he's cracked up to be. But he can beat some pretty strong people..probably.
